Here's some stuff I remembered seeing:
Comic-Con Video Interviews: DreamWorks Animation\'s Penguins of Madagascar & Home
Kicking off this year\'s Hall H presentations at Comic-Con in San Diego was DreamWorks Animation, who brought footage from two of their upcoming releases, Penguins of Madagascar and Home, while teasing a third, B.O.O.: Bureau of Otherworldy Operations.
You can read ComingSoon.net\'s live blog of the panel right here, but after the panel, ComingSoon.net had a chance to sit down with some of the talent involved with the first two movies, including Jim Parsons, the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning actor best known for playing Sheldon on "The Big Bang Theory." We also spoke to four long-time DreamWorks Animation creators, three of whom have been making movies with the company for nearly 15 years.
After three hit "Madagascar" movies, DreamWorks Animation has finally decided to spin-off the four snarky but lovable stowaway penguins into their very own movie Penguins of Madagascar with Tom McGrath returning as the voice of Skipper, as well as Kowalski, Private and Rico. This time they team with an espionage agency known as North Wind, led by Benedict Cumberbatch\'s "Classified," as they take on the villainous octopus, Dr. Octavius Brine (voiced by John Malkovich).
ComingSoon.net spoke with McGrath--who co-directed all three "Madagascar" movies alongside Eric Darnell, who in turn directs this spin-off with Simon J Smith.
Based on Adam Rex\'s "The True Meaning of Smekday," DreamWorks Animation\'s next movie Home is a family-friendly alien invasion movie with a twist with "The Big Bang Theory\'s" Jim Parsons voicing the alien Oh, who befriends a young girl named "Tip" (Rihanna) to stave off an invasion by Oh\'s race, the Boov.
ComingSoon.net sat down with Parsons and director Tim Johnson (
Antz, Over the Hedge) to talk about their animated offering.
