Gaga is nominated for Best Original Song for her emotional ballad against sexual assault, “Til It Happens to You,” co-written by herself and Diane Warren for the 2015 documentary

“It’s such an important song for me,” Gaga told ABC on the carpet. “One in five women will be raped before they graduate college… It’s something that is deeply connected to my heart. I am, myself, a survivor.”

During the ceremony, Gaga posted an intimate, behind-the-scenes photos of her and Kinney. She thanked her partner, writing, “I never thought anyone would ever love me because I felt like my body was ruined by my abuser. But he loves the survivor in me.”
