I remember visiting this website once...
It was called ‘Homeland’ Season 6 Spoilers — Elizabeth Marvel Cast As President | TVLine
Here's some stuff I remembered seeing:
Elizabeth Marvel is enjoying some political vindication, courtesy of
character Heather Dunbar made an unsuccessful bid for the White House — has been cast as
‘s first female President of the United States, to be featured in upcoming Season 6, TVLine has learned.
Marvel’s character, Elizabeth Keane, is a former junior Senator from New York. She’s bright, charming, lively, and, if the need arises, blunt.
As previously reported, Season 6 will be set (and shot) in New York City, and will take place during the two month period between Election Day and the swearing in of the new POTUS. “There is this strange period in America where there are 72 days when it’s not exactly clear who’s in charge, and there is a new president that needs to be educated on what it means to be president,” Alex Gansa previously told EW.com. “That is a very complex transfer of power filled with all kinds of anxiety and different competing interests… it’s a dangerous time in our democracy.”

Drop your thoughts on Marvel’s casting in a comment below.
Is she the first female president in the fictional universe of the show or in any movie / show ever?
Because I distinctly remember Mackenzie Allen being the Commander-in-chief already.
No, she’s not even close to being the first ever. And there will be a female president on SUPERGIRL this season, too.
The article states…first female President on HOMELAND. Reading is your friend.
It’s the “first” that irritated me. It’s a fictional show, the line of succession is fictional, so why is it important that this is the FIRST female POTUS on this particular fictional show? Is it relevant to the plot?
It’s important within the context of the show. If you don’t watch HOMELAND, why are you bothered?
Because I always wonder why such emphasis is put on such irrelevant attributes. Do you know who the first green-eyed US president was? The first blond one?
Because people with green eyes or blonde hair haven’t historically been discriminated against. Do you *really* not grasp why gender and skin color are different? Because that’s a pretty insipid comparison you’re making.
Because I have a female chancellor in her 11th year in office and she’s just as bad at her job as her two male predecessors (16 years and 9 years in office).
There’s nothing special about these people.
Elizabeth Marvel as the series’ first female president will make a great impression when the new season of Homeland premieres in January 2017. The actress was also on The District with Craig T. Nelson.
