Remember those great romantic moments that were imbued with pure ディズニー magic and have since become timeless keepsakes: how we got to experience 愛 at 1st sight with シンデレラ as she waltzed away with Prince Charming into a blessed starry nightscape; the anticipation we held on to when Prince Eric leaned in to キッス Ariel as they floated along a spellbinding lagoon; the way Lady's eyes gleamed under the Bella Notte as Tramp gazed into them over a candlelit スパゲッティ ディナー for two; how our breathes were taken as Eugene finally saw Rapunzel surrounded によって the lanterns of her dreams on Corona's lake; the excitement of being whisked away on the magic carpet up into the diamond filled Eastern skies with アラジン and Princess Jasmine; how perfectly picturesque it was when Briar Rose and Prince Phillip sang a secret duet and danced against their reflection on a woodland pond; the sheer awe of seeing Belle's beautiful golden ballgown twist and turn as she swayed in the Beast's arms with the glittering eyes of the heavens witnessing from outside the magnificent ballroom windows. Each if these moments and the like were instantly etched into our memories and are renowned around the world. Now, take the bayou waltz scene between Tiana and Prince Naveen in The Princess and the Frog, it had all the hallmarks of the aforementioned scenes; there were two charismatic leads in a idyllic setting, a pleasant 愛 ballad lulling the couple and a shimmering blanket of deep velvet blue overseeing it all, it should've been a true classic, right? Well, the scene was almost there but, unfortunately, just couldn't make the same impact as the others, in my eyes anyways, as I feel it was because Tiana and her Prince were, well, just frogs. I know the plot has them restricted as such but having them showcased in such forms during a pivotal event takes away from the majesty of this romantic interlude. There was no awe in seeing these cartoon frogs dance together and, frankly, it reminded myself that I was watching a children's film. It was a nice moment but the magic from the best of the ディズニー canon has the ability to クロス age barriers and pull on our heartstrings to transport us to a world that transcends アニメーション and have us falling in 愛 as the characters on screen do in tangible yet poignant details. Yes, in Lady and the Tramp the romantic moment was between two イヌ but yet it remains a beloved scene firmly embedded in cinematic history. Generally, we humans are もっと見る inclined to favor and empathize with our affectionate canine brethren, much もっと見る so then with cold, slippery amphibians. The story of Lady and the Tramp effectively presents its leads as sentient イヌ who try to decipher the human world as they fall in love, a feat made believable through inspired アニメーション while still making sense as the animators kept the イヌ behaving like イヌ during an amorous ディナー date, for instance. With Tiana and Naveen as frogs, we know they're human so they still behave as such over their mucus covered exteriors but it would've been entirely magical and helped spirit us away had there been もっと見る creativity to 表示する the two as 愛 struck humans dancing deep within the mystical bayou. The whole point of this moment was to highlight how both Tiana and Naveen were complimentary together, each other's ying and yang, with the industrious Tiana needing to stop and smell the バラ もっと見る often and the party boy Prince Naveen needing to take life もっと見る seriously. This dance was もっと見る than a dance, it was a moment of the two helping the other to dig a little deeper within to become better versions of themselves, turning their worlds upside down in the process and thus would this have been the perfect opportunity to 表示する them as their true selves. What better way to illustrate this than to glimpse the two as humans through the reflection on the pond as they forget about the frog curse thrusted upon them and lose themselves in each other's arms? Just imagine it, the vast of the night sky imposed onto the surface of the water with Tiana reflected as a virtuous princess in a glorious lily pad ballgown once she eases her anxieties to enjoy the moment and dance with the free spirited Prince Naveen who himself begins to be humbled によって Tiana and her work ethic and appreciate her for who she truly is among the echoed stars. It would've been a truly rapturous moment to witness the two gliding through this fantastically spangled mirror world and we would've indeed been reminded of the rich ディズニー tradition of unforgettable romantic moments. With that said, it's worth pointing out that it would've been absolutely marvelous to behold Tiana in that opulent waterlily ballgown longer than what was initially shown as it didnt recieve no where near enough screen time it deserved. I mean, that was part of the enchantment of the iconic ballroom scene in Beauty and the Beast, to see Belle in motion while donning her resplendent ballgown and it would no doubt have been just as enchantingly iconic to see Tiana's equally exquisite ensemble in the same manner, that is what it was made for after all, am I right?
