Keeping along with my Halloween/Autumn-themed articles, I wanted to make a "DP お気に入り Scary Movie" post! I 愛 to binge watch scary 映画 in the 月 of October; I suppose it's my way of celebrating the ハロウィン holiday since I don't do trick-or-treating または anything like that. I have heard plenty of complaints about children being on this site so for that reason I will only be providing films with a rating of "PG" または "PG-13" so that it is all content-friendly. (I even provided the rankings for each film along with the 年 since there was no "PG-13" rating pre 1984 [coincidentally!].)

Snow White: When a Stranger Calls (2006) [PG-13]: I picked this one for Snow White because it seems to me like Snow White is so motherly and caring that she could never abandon children, especially in danger. I think this would be a very scary movie and situation to her. She might feel helpless to help the children on one hand but also she will feel obligated to do what she can to keep them safe.
During a babysitting gig, a high-school student is harassed によって an increasingly threatening prank caller.

Cinderella: Darkness Falls (2000) [PG-13]: I picked this one for シンデレラ because she got help from a fairy godmother so the idea that the miraculous helper would actually be the villain, I think, would be very frightening to Cinderella. I also think シンデレラ would find the concept of taking a friendly, positive childish image and turning it into a creepy, frightening image to be brilliantly scary.
A vengeful spirit has taken the form of the Tooth Fairy to exact vengeance on the town that lynched her 150 years earlier. Her only opposition is the only child, now grown up, who has survived her before.

Aurora: The Witches (1990) [PG]: Evil female witches who stalk on children? I think this one is right up Aurora's alley and would definitely remind her of Maleficent. I think she would find all of the witches motives and actions to be very frightening and she could relate to the horror that some of the kids in the film go through. I think she would also appreciate that the main child's goodness prevails.
A young boy stumbles onto a witch convention and must stop them, even after he has been turned into a mouse.

Ariel: Jaws (1975) [PG]: At the risk of being obvious and cliché, no one would understand the real fear of sharks the way Ariel would since she's actually experienced them up close. I think she might find it very frightening that both マーメイド and humans are equally afraid of sharks. She's definitely safer on land but even the "landies" fear the sharks.
When a gigantic great white 鮫, サメ begins to menace the small island community of Amity, a police chief, a marine scientist and grizzled fisherman set out to stop it.

Belle: The Twilight Zone Movie (1983) [PG-13]: Since Belle is a reader and loves 読書 to escape, I think she would really 愛 the 書く of the Twilight Zone since the scripts are taken from short stories によって very talented authors. I also think she'd appreciate the little vignette style that would remind her of short stories または fables.
Four horror/sci-fi segments directed によって four famous directors which are their own versions of classic stories from Rod Serling's landmark テレビ series.

Jasmine: The Others (2000) [PG-13]: Since ジャスミン spent her whole life feeling trapped and not able to explore and socialize the way she wanted to, I think she would find this story absolutely horrific. Particularly, ジャスミン would find the ending to be very frightening. To find out that あなた were もっと見る trapped than あなた even thought would possibly be the worst thing ジャスミン could imagine.
A woman who lives in a darkened old house with her two photosensitive children becomes convinced that her family ホーム is haunted.

Pocahontas: The Mothman Prophecies (2000) [PG-13]: Why? Because it is a creature of nature[?] providing a sign of bad things to come. Since Pocahontas loves to look for the meaning behind things and this is based on an unexplainable true story, I think she would find this particularly spooky.
A reporter is drawn to a small West Virginia town to investigate a series of strange events, including psychic visions and the appearance of bizarre entities.

Mulan: Stephen King's IT (1990) [PG-13]: I don't know why, but I get the sense that ムーラン would find clowns to be creepy. (Then again don't a lot of people?) What I mean to say is, I think ムーラン would find clowns to be especially creepy. Perhaps because of their hiding who they are behind all of the make up and costume which she doesn't agree with as shown in her song "Reflection". Anyways, this is technically a TV-Series and not a movie but it's still incredibly frightening and very well done nonetheless. (Plus I always thought it was a movie as a child since that's the only way I ever saw it.)
In 1960, seven outcast kids known as "The Loser Club" fight an evil demon who poses as a child-killing clown. 30 years later, they are called back to fight the same clown again.

Tiana: The Skeleton Key (2005) [PG-13]: Much like in Ariel's case, I think Tiana would find this extra frightening because of her personal relation. I think she would find the voodoo element to be quite scary and realistic. Especially since the concept here is believing in it makes あなた subject to it and she certainly believes in it already as she's seen it's power.
A hospice nurse working at a spooky New Orleans plantation ホーム finds herself entangled in a mystery involving the house's dark past.

Rapunzel: Watcher In The Woods (1980) [PG]: A girl who gets ロスト in the woods and is never seen from または heard from again? I think this sums up all of the fears Rapunzel had trying to leave her tower. Woods, ghosts, spirits, séances, etc. This might even be a movie Mother Gothel would 表示する her as a young girl to keep her from ever leaving the tower.
When a family moves to a country home, the young girls experience strange happenings that have a link to an occult event years past.

Merida: Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956) [PG]: Since Merida is so passionate about sticking to her beliefs and who she is, I think she would find the concept of "You are あなた but not really you" to be the most frightening of all of the DPs. Merida is far from a conformist so she would not want her body taken over and being forced to convert to a lifestyle she doesn't agree with.
A small-town doctor learns that the population of his community is being replaced によって emotionless alien duplicates.

Elsa: Something Wicked This Way Comes (1983) [PG]: The struggle between good and evil is something Elsa heavily identifies with in relation to her powers. I think she would really appreciate that good/evil battle element a lot. Since it is the Carnival coming to town that is bringing the "wicked", I think Elsa would also like the symbolism of something that seems fun might not always be.
In a small American town, a diabolical circus and its demonic proprietor prey on the townsfolk.

Anna: The Conjuring (2014) [PG-13]: For some reason, Anna strikes me as the type who would just 愛 ghost stories! I think she would appreciate the family values in this film as well as the scarier elements. I also think she would like the character of the couple who try to help everyone face the spirits since she tries to help others face their demons as well.

I think I have rarely seen a movie as overrated as “Brave”. Hell, the thing got a freaking Oscar, and while I know which kind of politics were in play for that atrocity, it is frustrating to see this movie getting the critical acclaim over something as creative as “Wreck it Ralph”. They can talk about Merida’s hair as much as they want, the movie who should have gotten the awards for this one was “Tangled”, because that was the movie for which the software which was developed further in “Brave” was invented.

I disliked the idea of Merida in the Line-Up from the get-go, too....
