I have never been a ファン of president bashing. I don't care who's the president, whether a republican または a democrat, i have never liked it. Yes, it can be funny, but as a whole i think it ruins the unity of America. I think it tears apart our appearance of strength as a nation, and i think our enemies, who ever they may be (im not implying a specific enemy, but american does have its share) see this hatred of our president, and are stronger because of it. A divided country falls, a united country lives on.
I remember EXACTLY where i was September 11 and exactly what happened that day. I was a freshmen in high school. Before school, i walked sleepily out of my room to the キッチン where my mom was watching the news. I saw a plane fly in to a building. i wasn't shocked, but wondered what was going on. That morning at school, before first period, everyone was joking around about how stupid the pilot was. then ランダム classmates would join, providing a little もっと見る information here and there. no one really knew what was going on. it was time for first period, my math class, and for once the tv was turned on. After hearing what had really happened, i was in total shock and felt horribly guilty. I remember having to ride the bus home, fearing another attack. Finally home, i sat watching the news crying. I couldn't believe anyone would do something like that.
The point of this story is that, the weeks and months after 9/11, i have never see the US もっと見る united than those days. It touched me deeply. i have always been patriotic, and to see my fellow americans feel and share and care for one another, just because our common thread was america, brought tears to my eyes. I will never forget what that event brought out of Americans.
Lately, that connection between us has been lost. yes, it has been seen a little with hurricane Katrina または the southern california wildfires, but nothing compared to those months after 9/11. No one really cares about each other anymore. No one thinks about anyone but themselves. I'm in no way perfect, but it pains me to see what we have ロスト as a nation. Compassion.
Which brings be back to my original point (sorry people, i like to tangent, i hope its making sense). When we bash our president, it not only hurts that political party, または the president, it hurt the entire nation. We look divided, weak, and selfish. Yes, ブッシュ may be doing a horrible job, but there are other ways to try and solve it, instead of attacking him, his personality, his character. I think respect is something that we should willingly give to our president, even if he has disgraced himself, our collective respect will not only make us stronger, but i think, compassionate for each other again. And this goes for any president. Bush, Clinton, Reagan, Nixon, Carter, Ford, Kennedy, etc. We may not like them, but we should respect the office they hold.
Americans are so strong, focus, and determined. If only we could be united. Imagine what we could do.
Sorry for the rant. I just finally had to say something. Also, i was wondering if anyone felt the same?
And if あなた didn't like it, please be nice about it. I was just expressing my thoughts on the matter.
