This 記事 details my initial thoughts on the 12 ballot propositions up for our vote on Tuesday, 4 November 2008, as a means of starting discussion. It was last edited on 30 October 2008.

First of all, I should reiterate my stance on ballot propositions (link, two years ago): unless there is a clear and compelling reason that we MUST have the change, I prefer to vote against ballot propositions in general, and issuing bonds specifically. Bonds are a terrible way to raise money.

This 記事 presents my musings on Proposition 8, on which we will be voting in the November ballot this year. The 記事 was last edited on 27 October 2008.

What is Proposition 8?
Proposition 8 is an initiative to amend the California state constitution. As an initiative, it was a petition signed によって at least 410,000 registered voters in California (5% of the approximately 8,200,000 people who voted in the last gubernatorial election, which is the Constitutional requirement for an initiative to get on the ballot). The Proposition is entitled "ELIMINATES RIGHT OF SAME–SEX COUPLES TO MARRY"...
