For those who believe in evolution. explanation please!

ok. so i'm a christian, and i'm NOT here to convert あなた または anything but i would just like to understand evolution. i know that its not directly link to atheism but most atheist i know also believe in evolution.

so my 質問 is:
what exactly is it?
do あなた believe everything about it?

I'm extremely confused.. From the way you've been debating our answers, あなた seem to already know about evolution. If あなた only want an answer to your 秒 question, could あなた just SAY so instead of getting into big debates about the first one?

I don't understand why あなた are asking a 質問 like this here. Evolution is a scientific theory, not a philosophical one. So the best thing あなた can do is ask a science professor, read a book, または at least Google it.

What is evolution? Um, yeah, that is a huge question. I'm not sure if あなた want a cookie-cutter definition, または a もっと見る personal one...
Evolution is, for the most part, defined as a process によって which species adapt to their environments over time. Its about development, diversification and adaptation in order to survive and pass on genetic material.

Do I believe everything about it? LOLz. If I believed everything about it, I would believe a lot of contradictions. We don't know all there is to know about the world, so we don't know exactly how evolution works in all instances. Therefore, there are many contradicting theories within the umbrella theory of "evolution". I believe in the core of evolution, as I described in the first part of my answer. And I believe in that science not just because scientists tell me to, but because I can see evolutionary theory at work both historically and in modern times. It makes to me in terms of the world that I experience everyday. So the science coupled with my life experience leads to me to conclude that evolutionary theory, while flawed, is the best explanation that I have at hand for the existance of the universe, should I choose to even pretend I have enough knowledge about any of it to even think about such things.

I answer the clarified 質問 あなた posed to caramelmilk, what makes evolution もっと見る believable to me is, as I said, my own life experience, seeing what I consider to be evolution in action. But as well as that, scientific evidence does play a part. Fossils for sure are good evidence, despite people denying fossils for reasons that escape me completely. Evidence is pretty clear that the development of fossils are dependent on so many factors, so the length of time it takes for a fossil to be made is highly variable. No one ever denied that. Never understood the whole 'fossils aren't real' argument... Anyway, there is other evidence relating to

I think it would be best if あなた read a book about it :) That can probably explain everything better than we ever could.
Evolution is quite complex, so if あなた really want to understand it, it takes もっと見る than a few sentences.
Basically it's about mutations, genetic drift and natural selection.

ok. maybe i was not clear it もっと見る of the 秒 qn.. i know quite a bit of evolution but not everything cause well it a really board subject. but what makes あなた beiev in it. i have a cousin study evolution in her college and from what i heard, it seems as vague as the bible. so my qn would actually be what makes it もっと見る believable to you? this qn kinda hard to pharse.

While あなた complain about the evolution theory not having enough evidence, there's no evidence at all for the theory that god created everything.

Looking back at the past from now to the Big Bang, everything is all neatly laid out (sort of). And then キリスト教 decides to add the wildly unrealistic possibility of an omnipotent being in the sky who has always existed to explain the logical explanation of the Big Bang Theory.

I'm no expert, but the basic concept of evolution is "survival of the fittest."

If あなた have two dogs, and one dog is really wimpy and doesn't fight for 食 while the other is strong and smart and takes all the food, the stronger one will survive to mate with girl イヌ and pass one his genes. Therefore his children will likely be strong as well.

Super condensed and super basic...but like everyone else said, it's a vast topic and あなた should probably read a book または an article.

abt your example, not true, seeing that being strong is a dominant gene, doesn;'t means that the children will be strong. it is also dependent on the female dog genetics.

I do politely recommend Wikipedia's 記事 on evolution for a beginner, they're fairly well researched and anti-vandalism security quite high, most important, there's consistent effort to maintain neutrality. On the other hand there's "The Greatest 表示する on Earth" によって Professor emeritus Richard Dawkins FRS FRSL, but that book isn't very neutral.

evolution によって the dictionary is defined as: "any process of formation または growth; development"

basically it means that something(an animal, または cell, または a plant, ect.) changes over hundreds of years to change according to its environment.

As Darwin 発言しました "survival of the fittest". That is true. If there is もっと見る than one creature wanting a place to live, who ever is the most strongest, fittest, and best set to live there will survive.

if あなた want a better explanation I suggest Darwin, または just a science textbook.

I believe in all of it!!!

thats not entirely true that evolution is defined as that. there is a lot もっと見る to evolution. if that is evoultion then me myself i would believe in just that part which to be perfectly honest i do believe in taht, that species evolve to adapt to their environment. but that not just it. evolution comes with a whole lot more., it about how the earth was form which consist of the big bang theory and how old the earth is. so therefore, i think that if evolution is just meant to say what あなた define it as, it should be renamed adaptation. because well, to adapt to an environment, one has to change something. because evolve is not exact the right word. as evovle is もっと見る of a drastic change but this happen over a period of a hundred and thousands of years.

But you're not trying to LEARN here. You're just arguing about evolution. If あなた actually want to LEARN, go read a book! I dislike people who think it's fun to annoy the hell out of everyone else >:(

If あなた don't believe that evolutionary theory is science, then I can't help you. Yes, it is historical, but is is based upon scientific testing and evidence, Like I said, repeatedly, the science that あなた trust medicine with is extremely similar, if not the same, as the science that あなた don't trust evolution with.

KateKicksAss said:
This is one definition of it:

"Evolution (also known as biological または organic evolution) is the change over time in one または もっと見る inherited traits found in populations of organisms.[1] Inherited traits are particular distinguishing characteristics, including anatomical, biochemical または behavioural characteristics, that are passed on from one generation to the next. Phenotypic expressions of these traits can be influenced によって gene–environment interactions. Evolution may occur when there is variation of inherited traits within a population. The major sources of such variation are mutation, genetic recombination and gene flow. Evolution has led to the diversification of all living organisms, which are described によって Charles Darwin as "endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful""

Why do I believe it? Well there's LOTS of proof of evolution, I mean, skeletons and such that have supported the theory have been dug up, and scientists have done LOTS of research on it.
I highly doubt that it would be taught in schools, または such a widely known, popularized, and researched theory if people weren't fairly certain of it.

I don't just believe things on faith, like あなた Christians do, I believe evolution because I've seen, heard of, and read about tons of proof of it.

And there's a REASON religion isn't taught in schools, but evolution IS, あなた know....
