OOC: あなた waited for like ever, so...
2 Weeks Later
They weren’t deathly devastated. Not anymore. The team had accepted Fin’s passing. They promised themselves not to forget her. Even if they wanted to, how could they. That one rose burned brightly, 日 and night, in a place for everyone to see. And everyone lived on.
A new girl had joined the team. Her hero name was Ray. But she pronounced her name was Samantha with a certain accent, Wally heard ‘Samanta’ and dubbed her ‘Manta.’ Her joking and light manner was a reminder of Fin, and the team naturally liked her.
“So...” she asked Blade one day, “I don’t get... that.”
“What?” Blade asked, turning to where she pointed.
“The rose thing. What’s that all about?”
The room went silent. Manta bit her lip and ran a gloved hand through her spiky black and blue hair. “Sorry?” she muttered, unsure. Becca smiled at her.
“No, あなた don’t know. Someone want to explain?”
Manta sat and listened as Scarlet and Mercy came up to tell Fin’s story. She gave an occasional glance to Robin and Delta, who sat in the kitchen, trying to mask what they could. When it was finished, she gave a half-hearted chuckle. “Damn, it’s gonna be hard here,” she sighed, once again running a hand through her hair. “Big expectations and all that.”
“No kidding,” Aisling remarked, and jumped off the couch. “Going for a walk. Anyone wanna come?”
No one responded, and the zeta tube announced Aisling’s departure.
Her コンバース hit the ground running and she headed out to a remote location only the team knew. The wind blew her ponytail out behind her and brushed her arms. She weaved in and out amongst the trees, ducking occasionally below the branches.
Aisling was the third most 人気 visitor to the site. The bracelet she’d found was little and very expensive looking. Whoever ロスト it was probably missing it and that gave her a reason to come back-- at least, that was the reason she told the team. She refused to admit that she needed Fin. This was as close as she’d ever get.
Reaching the clearing, she sat and watched the nesting birds. Blue jays and kingfishers were popular, but every once and awhile there was a robin fluttering about. Like a personal blessing, Aisling thought. I doubt he knows though.
There was a soft rustle from behind, and she tensed a bit. Then she felt a small hand on her shoulder. She turned slowly.
Only to freeze with shock.
