The mountain shook as an explosion sounded. Megan lowered her shield. Ash and dust fell around them and the team looked around. Becca stood up, stretching her neck.
“Damn villains!” she muttered.
“Don't complain. We're alive.”
“I know that!”
Becca shook her head, shooting wally a glare. Robin took her hand, giving it a squeeze. They looked at each other and smiled. Artemis groaned.Both blushed, turning their attention back to the villains at hand. Cheshire and her crew. Becca groaned. Then smirked.
“I call Cheshire!” she shouted.
“What? あなた can't call people! You're not on this team anymore! あなた were just visiting!” Wally reminded.
Both looked over at Kaldur. He nodded in Becca's direction and she gave Wally a cheesy grin.
“Ha! I win!”
“Excuse me heroes! Over here. Remember us?”
“Hi Cheshire!” Becca greeted playfully.
“Little bird number two. Meow. I need some play time anyway.”
Becca smiled as Cheshire came after her. She sped away, outside of the ruined base. When Cheshire threw a sai at her, Becca jumped. But ロスト her footing and fell off the side. Damn. That's what I get for taking on Cheshire. Why'd they attack us at our home? Something's off. Becca went for her grappling hook, only to remember it was in the mountain. Karma. Why do hate me, destiny?
“Destiny's got nothing to do with it.”
Becca looked to her right as she landed in strong arms. The voice was familiar. The arms were familiar. And the person she saw was very familiar.
“I was wondering when I was going to run into you,” she 発言しました with a smile.
“Heh. あなた always did have a way of landing in my arms.”
Becca flushed but slapped her savior's arm. Black hair dripped into his black eyes, his peach-perfect skin marked with scars from past battles and a smirk lit his face. Black feathered wings helped him to fly, but they were as tough as leather.
“You're an idiot,” Becca declared.
“I can always drop you.”
Becca wrapped her arms around his neck tightly.
“You do and you'll go down with me.”
The boy smiled widely. His arms held Becca closer and she allowed herself to cuddle against him.
“What were あなた doing so close to that ledge anyway?”
“Oh. I was fighting a villain. But I ロスト my footing. Just get me back up there; my フレンズ need me.”
“Sure thing sweetheart.”
Becca smiled as they flew up and onto the ledge. She landed safely only to find she had been to late; the fight was over. Young Justice had won.
“Damn it! I never get to fight anymore.”
Becca pouted playfully but smiled when Robin came to her. She allowed herself to be hugged and kissed to death before she broke free from his embrace.
“I'm okay, Robin. No worries.”
“I know.”
Becca smirked but relaxed when the others saw she was unharmed. Minus her few scratches. A clearing of a throat brought Becca back to the present and she smiled.
“Guys, I want あなた to meet a friend. This is Fang. He saved me when I was falling. Fang, these are my フレンズ and teammates. Megan, Artemis, Wally, Connor, and Kaldur. And this is Robin, my boyfriend.”
“Pleasure,” Fang said. “It's nice to know Becca has friends. She's not the nicest person I know.”
Becca stuck her tongue out at Fang but was laughing as she did so.
“We thank あなた for rescuing her,” Kaldur said.
“No problem. I'm always here for this one. She has a tendency of getting into mischief.”
“So do you,” Becca replied.
“How?”
“Last I checked New York news, there was a mysterious winged man who just so happened to be flying around drunk.”
“One time! That was one time!”
“And then there was that time at the beach. あなた know, with that ONE guy.”
“It was hilarious!”
“Fang. あなた have been into もっと見る mischief than I have. In fact, あなた got me started.”
“Did not!”
“Did too.”
“I didn't TELL あなた to come with me when I put a fake bomb in the mayor's house,” Fang grumbled.
“No. But あなた offered so I went.”
“I was being nice.”
“And to a ten 年 old with no family, I went along,” Becca explained.
“Not my fault あなた went.”
“Oy. This is almost as bad as what happened in Russia.”
“We promised to NEVER talk about that.”
Both sighed at the same time and it was only then that they noticed the amused looks on the teams faces. Becca blushed and looked away while Fang shrugged it off.
“Alright. I gotta fly,” Fang said. “You guys keep an eye on my little bird. She's trouble.”
Fang gave Becca a wink and flew off into the air. Becca shook her head and started inside. The others followed her example and Wally broke the silence.
“So, what happened in Russia?”
