The wolf. When most people think of a wolf, they think of a big, bad, snarling creature. オオカミ aren't like that at all. They are just as afraid of あなた as あなた are to them. オオカミ are social animals, but humans have driven them away によって ruining their habitat, and destroying their packs. オオカミ still roam the Earth, but are very rare in numbers. Many オオカミ live in Idaho または Canada, and even Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming. The 狼, オオカミ is a stereotype. Take Little Red Riding フード for example. In this story, the 狼, オオカミ is the evil one. No オオカミ would dress up as a grandma (duh!) And オオカミ certainly do NOT eat people. Yeah, I know, オオカミ are carnivores, but they only eat deer, and elk and so on... I just hate it when someone sees a 狼, オオカミ and is immediately scared of it. If the 狼, オオカミ is aggressive, it may have young nearby, and it is just trying to protect its kin. If あなた ever encounter an aggressive wolf, lay low and avoid eye contact to 表示する the 狼, オオカミ that あなた pose no threat. オオカミ are very caring and gentle animals, and are sadly becoming extinct because of humans. Try the 狼, オオカミ style of life for once. It isn't easy. Save the wolves!
The eyesight of オオカミ is not fully understood, thought it is probably similar to that of domesticated dogs. Compared with humans, オオカミ have three to four times the density of light-sensing rods in their retinas, which gives them keener night vision. Yet because they lack a fovea (the tiny pit on the retina) they cannot match a human's ability to focus on objects at a long distance.
The eerie, harmonic chorus howl so engrained in our collective unconscious is used both defensively and to rally the pack. Chorus howling also brings the オオカミ enjoyment, thought pack politics dictate that low-ranking オオカミ not to 登録する in uninvited.
