When watching Ugly Betty- または be it any other 表示する または movie, the narrative is one of the essential elements in understanding the story, in addition to which it forms the sequencing and ordering of events, as and when they happen.

The concept of narrative structure enables the likes of あなた and I to understand the message, ideas and situations taking place within the film または 表示する through the ordering of those events occuring on screen. Alas, this is where meaning is also achieved. Although narrative structure and theory is not neccessarily based around semiotics- which I have touched upon during...

“Mija, I just don’t feel like it is 安全, 安全です for あなた to go off to Paris によって yourself, even if it is for work.” Ignacio stated still worried that she would be alone.

“Papi, あなた worry too much. I will be fine, and I will only be alone for the first two weeks, because that is my vacation time,...

Semiotics, which is also known as 'semiology' has been recognised and regarded as one of the main theoretical areas within media and cultural studies. I think this is because that we realise that there is もっと見る than one way of 読書 a TV show, film, photo, poster. It is one thing describing what it looks like, but it is also another...

Texts are created for mass consumption によって the producers, but the text and its ideas and storylines are disemminated, perceived and interpreted differently によって us- the audience または be it consumers. This leads us onto Stuart hall's encoding/decoding model.

For Hall, the encoding/decoding model is a concept he originally devised where he explains that through the transmission of ideas and messages in the texts, Hall proposed three ways of 読書 and decoding texts: dominant, negotiated and oppositional. The dominant reading is where the viewer takes away that meaning from the TV 表示する and accept...

There is a striking contrast between America and her character
There is a striking contrast between America and her character
I've had this idea in the back of my head for a long while now, and after yet another pick asking whether または not Betty should get a make over and be pretty, I decided to finally address my frustrations with this idea in soapbox form.

Regardless of what's been done in shows like link, upon which our Ugly Betty is based, I think the 表示する will jump the 鮫, サメ if/when Betty gets a makeover and is suddenly beautiful and fashionable. Why? Well, I'll tell you.

First of all, this idea initially popped into my head when I was watching Beauty and the Beast with my roommate and she commented, "You know,...
