I opened my eyes to find my father knocking on my door to wake me. I folded my blanket off my body, and swung my knees over my bed. I changed out of my pajamas and into my white button up シャツ and black pants.
I left the my room to find father at the 表, テーブル and mother working over the sink.
"Good morning Carlisle, I hope あなた had a good sleep"
"Yes mother," I said, too tired anything else.
Last night, my father had arranged another night raid against the monsters haunting and killing people during the night. Some people even call these monsterous beasts vampires, but I don't believe in such things. People say the monsters live in the sewers によって 日 and hunt during the night.
So far there has been fifteen citizen killings and no clues to who has done them, expect for that they were all at night.
One witness says the saw a young man walking alone along a dark 通り, ストリート when another man ran at lightning speed to the man and bit him in the neck, so savagely that the man didn't even realise that he was being biten. He died instantaneously. The 次 thing that the monster did was pick up the mans lifeless body, with incredible, unhumanly force, and drag him into a nearby ally.
This is when my father started hunting the devil's messengers. The town has come to my father because only God will be able to save us from this devil monster.
My father, the priest of our church, has become obsessed with hunting these creatures of the night, even thought six people have died in these night raids and we haven't caught one of the killers.
Im not sure if I agree with my father tactics about hunting and killing the creatures of the night. I think this is a monsterious way to rid the world of this horrible creature, but it must be done someway.
My mother placed hot oatmeal infront of me at the table, and I thanked her.
I picked up my spoon and stirred the oatmeal which was much to hot to eat, during which my mother asked in a casual tone how the raid had gone last night.
"No luck," my father 発言しました in a sad, dull tone, "Jim Thomas was with us when we left, but not when we returned."
"Oh my!" Mother 発言しました in return, "I do hope he left unseen and isn't hurt! Poor Susan! She must be worried sick, I will go visit her today."
"As will Carlisle and I, I hope he got ホーム unseen but..."
My mother and I didn't need to told what my father was going to say. We all knew it wasn't good that poor Jim Thomas, one of our strongest members of the church, hadn't returned to the church after the raid.
The family and I all finished our breakfast in silence, too sad to continue on with our sad conversation subject.
My father slowly got up from his chair and walked toward the door, I fallowed knowing that we would be attending Mrs. Thomas's home. My mother wiped her hands on her エプロン and slowly got up. She removed her エプロン and flatened her dress as slid on her shoes to fallow us out the door. We all had a long, upsetting, 日 ahead of us.
