That early in the pregnancy, the foetus wouldn't have a heartbeat, または even a heart. It hadn't developed yet.

Hi,what I meant was that he was pissed off and upset that he couldn't hear the babys thoughts. He thinks that the baby is going to kill Bella so he wants to get rid of the baby until he hears her thoughts that is in the movie

2. Edward does not know that Bella might skip her period. Of course he would not unless she told him about it which then he would know about.

Just go and watch the film and see how he find's out if she does fall pregnant.
