I don't think you are alone when it comes to that... though most of XF fans loved IWTB, the very thought of how bad that movie was makes me want to strangle CC.

It was just...less than an X files movie should be. I think he forgets what people like about X-files. Even Fight the Future seemed to spend a lot of money on pointless things like extras, trucks, helicopters, a building to blow up, a bee dome. At least it had a creature in it. But the series got more mileage out of dark allies and small town settings and a glimpse of a cool monster here and there. The movies (especially the last one) failed pretty badly in comparison.

I actually like FTF, I like the fact that it was not like the show was but still managed to have all the things that the show was all about. IWTB wouldn't be so bad if it were an episode, but it was horrible as a movie that we waited for 6 damned years.

Sorry if I was badmouthing Fight the Future. I can certainly still watch it and enjoy it. It does have the two main ingredients: powerful bad guys and a monster. If X files three was more like Fight the Future than I Want To Believe, I think the fans would turn out for it.

Oh no, I do enjoy exchanging opinions and we can't all like everything so no apologies needed. I do understand and accept that FTF wasn't a movie of the year, but I still enjoy it and when we compare those two, FTF comes out as an Oscar material ;)

Looking at some of the best TV episodes, many of them are really the best creature features we've seen since Alien. So the bar is pretty high for any X-files movie for me.
