I picked mixed feelings, because I'm not sad or devastated that Rick will no longer be part of the show, though I was very shocked. I mostly nothing Rick now, so I don't care if he's there or not. BUT! I'm also not all that happy about this news, because now that Lincoln is gone, they are giving the leading man role to Reedus. I have nothing against Reedus, I do love the guy..... But Daryl? The new leader???? REALLY AMC? That's the best option you came up with? The guy who acts on impulses and keeps putting the lives of his loved ones in danger? THAT'S the guy you put in the lead fucking role?????? I'm puzzled by this. It's laughable how they still think that Daryl is their golden boy and that he's everyone's favorite. Newsflash AMC, he's not and hasn't been for a while. Most people now either don't care about Daryl anymore, find him boring and/or annoying or they straight up hate him. I really don't see how that is a good decision, the only people happy about this are his horny fangirls and that's really NOT the majority of this fandom.

Why does it have to be a leading MAN role? Why not a leading FEMALE? Could be Michonne or Carol! Who are both far more good leaders than Daryl will ever be.

So I don't actually care about Lincoln leaving, even though I did like the actor, just didn't care for the character, but I do care about the repercussions on this show. They yet again showed that they are very good a decision making!! Killing off Carl. Shoving Morgan on Fear. Giving Michonne and Carol less screentime. Putting Daryl in the leading role. You're on a fucking roll AMC!!

Andrew Lincoln? I wish him all the best. He seems like a cool guy, and if he wants out, I'm sure he has a good reason.

Prick Grimes? I have been wishing for his death for 8 whole seasons, and I am both overjoyed and in shock that it's actually gonna happen. How often does 8 years of wishful thinking actually come true?!

I'm not on board with Daryl being the new leader either. I liked him in S1, but it's all been downhill from there. I don't think he has what it takes, and I don't think he still has as many fans as AMC thinks he does. I'd much rather see Carol take the lead. Or Negan. Or just merge TWD & FTWD and have Madison show up and take over. You have options, AMC! It doesn't have to be this way!

I'm all down for Carol to take the lead! Or even a Carol/Madison team up to take the lead! Anything but Daryl! (well not anything, but you know)

I've never really been a fan of Rick but I'm worried about the direction of the show without him. Should just make Carol the leader she is the only person on the show that can lead and Melissa McBride is by far the best actor the show has ever seen. As much as I used to like Daryl he has never shown he can lead he can be a right hand man but he can not lead.

I'm sad that Andrew is leaving, but I think it's time we said goodbye to Rick. I had hoped that Carl would have taken over as leader but...

I agree with the above comments about Daryl - he's not the leading man we want to see. When I heard the news, I hoped that JDM would be the new leading man and Negan would take over.
