Before anyone says anything, this based on 4x07 and not the current episodes so chill out and let me explain my point before any of あなた go crazy on me ok.
The reason I don’t believe they truly 愛 her has been clear to me since 4x07 (BEFORE THEY FIGURE OUT  the “sire bond”)  , when Elena was still a fresh new vampire who struggling with her to accept it, and has a problem in the feeding department since she turned, but even before she turned Stefan was trying to find any way to turn her back human and have not complete the transition, now a lot of あなた would say that’s because he loves her and he knows that she doesn’t want to be a vampire and I agree with あなた that its PART of the reason why he was trying so hard to FIX his MISTAKE, see deep down he knew way back then that won’t be able to love/accept Elena if she turned into a vampire, and since she turned he’s has been struggling to deal with vampire Elena (even BEFORE she killed Conner, and BEFORE he found out the “sire bond”).
The mint he found out about the cure he jumped at the idea of FIXING Elena because for him Elena as a vampire is just a mistake, since then he was too focused on fixing her rather than trying to help adjust to her new condition. Now a lot of people would argue and say well he was right to try and “fix” her because there IS something wrong with her または that she did actually change または 芝居 differently , but I would to point out to あなた if it’s not obvious at that time it was only episode 4x04 (few days maybe a week in MF) and Elena did NOT change that much (not even try and mention the dirty dance with Damon, because Stefan didn’t know about it then), she was still the same girl afraid about her feelings dealing with yet another loss of someone she cares about, she was still going to school doing what expected from her,( I mean she had a problem with the animal blood and she was too worried, afraid to say it to Stefan would look at her differently that she went to Damon for help) the only thing was different about her is that she has to drink blood and that was so wrong from Stefan’s perspective. After the whole fiasco with Conner in 4x05, 4x06 Stefan broke with her because for him it’s not the same Elena that he loves   (putting aside the Damon thing) he 発言しました himself when Elena killed Conner to PROTECT/DEFEND her brother that “she’s NOT suppose to be this person”. I just want anyone to explain to me how she’s “not” the same person?? What because she killed a human to protect someone she loves?? How is it different from human Elena when she “killed” Elijah または Rebekah または helped killing Finn to protect the people she loves?? Yes あなた can say because he was human but guess what she’s a vampire now and ヴァンパイア have a strength and magnified emotions that human don’t have, and she ロスト it for mint and killed Conner protecting her brother. Does that mean that people who 愛 あなた should try and “fix” あなた または stop loving あなた because あなた ロスト for once, dealing with all these new powers and magnified emotions that yourself is trying to deal/adjust with. All of this happened was BEFORE he found out about the “sire bond”, BEFORE giving a REAL excuse/reason to try and FIX her. So for Stefan the WRONG thing with Elena wasn’t about her being “sired” to Damon it was about her being a vampire IN THE FIRST PLACE. So please explain to me how does he TRULY 愛 her when he can NOT TRULY accept her for who she REALLY is?? So what if she killed when human to PROTEC/SAVE her brother he has KILLED for far much less than that and she has accepted and loved him for who/what he is, but when it came down to it he could NOT  accept/love her for who she is, I’m asking あなた is that true love???
As for Caroline, Elena mentioned to Damon in 4x07 when they were talking that Caroline “flat out admitted that she doesn’t like this way”. This really just showed me how weak Caroline relationship is with Elena, I mean this her BEST friend for god sake, and Caroline doesn’t like her friend when she became a vampire um… WHY what exactly changed so much about Elena in her FIRST FEW (weeks または days) of being a vampire?? She killed a man well guess what so did Caroline when she first become a vampire 3 ACTUALLY (the man in 2x02, the two policemen in 2x05 to save Damon & Stefan) and Elena STUCK によって her every step of the way, she never left her (unlike Bonnie), EVEN AFTER ELENA FOUND OUT THAT Katherine was making Caroline USE and BETRAY her FRIENDSHIP AND TRUST, Elena still understood and forgave Caroline for what she did, but Caroline STOPED liking her friend because her friend broke up with her boyfriend and was confiding in her feelings for another man and doesn’t matter who the other guy is (even if was Damon, a person that Caroline hate) a REAL friend would just TRY and understand または say nothing at all (like bonnie did she too hates Damon but didn’t say to Elena that she doesn’t like her this ONLY because of a guy) but instead Caroline JUDGED and made feel terrible about being who she is just because she’s not with the “right guy” (Stefan) is that an enough reason to walk way on your best friend and treat her poorly just because she likes another guy really??.

This just evidence that Caroline doesn't really 愛 Elena not really, because Bonnie,Matt, and Tyler also hate/dislike Damon and both of Bonnie and Matt hate ヴァンパイア but they didn't 日 to Elena that they don't like her this way
