Why isn't Damon and Bonnie together in the series? Since they are together in the books.

They weren't together in the books. They kissed a few times, and were never canon.

In the 表示する they're not following the 本 through and through. They 発言しました that they used it as sort of a foundation but now they have completely went their own path. They 発言しました they take big things from the 本 (Such as the main premise of the 愛 triangle, and Klaus, and also throw in a few lines/scenes for book ファン once in a while like the Ms. お花 scene)

No, they're not together in the books, but there is a strong mutual attraction, between the two. Yes, the 表示する has taken the main aspects of the books, which gives a foundation to base it on, otherwise there would be no show, but I believe it is all heading in the same direction, even though the 表示する has changed some things. So I think Bonnie and Damon will happen in time, but not anytime soon.
If the writers added in Bamon, lets say in season 2, I believe that they would think Damon's 愛 for Elena would seem untrue and they want people to believe. However, I don't mind the course that Bamon are on right now, even though it seems slow at times, because of lack of scenes, but we're able to see the stages of their growth. First, hate and now they are frenemies, based of respect and a mutual understanding. So, I can't wait to see what season 3 will bring, so they shouldn't be counted out.

Bamon has a connection that goes to the ハート, 心 of who they are as individuals, book and tv show. In the books, it was Bonnie to open his soul and bring the true Damon forward. He did もっと見る for Bonnie, than he had ever done for anyone, because he loved and respected her.

Whether they follow this in the show, Bonnie has already shown Damon the same unfailing courage, honour, wisdom and compassion - and despite his words to Elena - he knows Bonnie to be true.

Give it time, they will forge a strong bond as in the books.
