Prologue
After defeating Gaea, the seven demigods involved settled down. Quests were being assigned again, but they were few. It was in the middle of the school year, and those who went to school had taken off the semester for the battle. So they had until January to just hang out.
A month or so after they had defeated Gaea, Zeus claimed a new kid: Demetry. Demetry was jealous of everyone. Mostly that he was their age, but hadn't been claimed earlier. He was just learning all of the things that came with being a demigod, but he picked it up fast. He went on a few quests and succeeded. He was an excellent swordsman. But he could never beat Percy.
Percy never tried to rub it in Demetry's face. In fact, he more often than not refused the challenge. But Demetry never cared. He got angrier and angrier with every loss.
And one day he lost it. That was the day that Percy was found with his sword to Demetry's neck, as if he was going to kill him. He pushed into his neck, drawing blood, before Chiron stopped him. Campers dragged him off of Demetry and held him back.
The whole camp was going crazy. Everyone loved Demetry. He was the kind of guy everyone loved. Annabeth was looking at Percy with accusing eyes, and his friends were all confused. Chiron brought him back to the Big House, where Zeus had come to meet him.
"Percy, for almost killing a fellow camper, for apparently no reason, you are banished. You cannot come back to Camp Half-Blood, New York, or Camp Jupiter. You may have no contact with any of the gods or demigods. That is my final order."
And with that, Percy was speechless. Zeus vanished, back to Mount Olympus. Chiron didn't say a word at first. "Go back and gather your things. Say your good-byes quickly, and then leave the camp. I will have money and provisions brought to you before you leave," he said finally. Percy nodded. He had already protested and tried to get him to hear his side of the story, but no one would listen.
Percy made his way through the camp without talking to anyone. When he got back to his cabin, his friends were waiting. Annabeth, Jason, Thalia, Nico, Grover, Leo, Piper, Reyna, Hazel, and Frank were all there. They didn't say anything, but Percy could tell what some of them thoughts by their faces.
Annabeth was the first to come and talk with him. She pulled him outside behind the cabin and slapped him. Hard. "How could you almost kill him! The Percy I knew would never EVER do that! How could you! No, don't talk. I can't be around you. And it doesn't seem like I'm going to be any more," Annabeth said. She didn't give him any chance to talk, and stomped off.
Percy went back in. He told them what Zeus had said, and was about to tell them his side of the story, but everyone except for Nico left. It would seem Nico was his only true friend. While Percy packed, he told Nico the whole story. And Nico understood everything.
Before Percy knew what had happened, Nico had his things in hand, and told him he was going with him. Nico was offering to leave everything behind for Percy. Because Percy was innocent. The sky thundered, signaling that Nico was now banished along with him.
After one last look at what used to be his favorite place in the world, Percy and Nico were off, forever alone from their world. Or so they thought.
