Doubt about Thomas and Sarah's relationship and Ronnie...

Ok so first they fell in 愛 an d all that stuff but what I didn't understand at the end of the book says that he was going ホーム to fall in 愛 with someone, well it exactly says this:

または maybe I was just getting my loving mechanism warmed up, ready for someone else.
Yes, that was probably it.

So he gets back ホーム and gets to Ronnie so that means he fell in 愛 with Ronnie in the end??? Why? I mean I read the book but he belonged with Sarah

Yes! This 質問 has been on my mind ever since I finished the book and to me it really doesn't make sense... I really think it would be quite strange if Thomas ended up with Ronnie, because he never really mentioned having any feelings for her and in my opinion there's really no future for them.

But even though Sarah might have made some huge mistakes, that doesn't take away the obvious special feelings Thomas has for her. They've been through this all together. They bonded at page 1 and stayed connected throughout the entire story. They're equally bright, they have the same attitude towards life and other people.

I can't believe that Hugh Laurie would change this story so dramatically (for the worse!) at the end. Still don't really get it though...
