Why It Looks Like The Big Bang Theory Will Probably Not End After Season 10

A while back, CBS decided to lock in and secure the cast of

for three more seasons. That huge renewal order was awesome at the time, because it ensured that fans would get more of

for some time to come and would not have to worry about the sitcom getting axed. Unfortunately, that deal is over at the end of the upcoming season, and some cast members have even said that Season 10 could be the show\'s last. The good news? It looks like

might be on the air for some time to come. CBS Entertainment President Glenn Geller is confident that a Season 11 renewal order is imminent. Here\'s what he had to say:

We are very confident that everyone involved wants more

past Year 10. I know Warner Bros will make those deals... We\'ll put it on for as long as everyone wants

So, there you have it, Geller is confident that both the cast and the production studio are going to want to sign on for more episodes, probably because some of them feel the writing is still on point and are happy to go to work each day. The third puzzle piece is obviously CBS itself, which is within its rights to cancel the hit comedy should it want to. Honestly, though, that would be a poor move. At this point,

is still one of the highest rated programs on TV. While the live numbers might not be quite as high as the show\'s heyday, much of that may be due to people not watching as much live TV as they used to.

The comments from CBS at TCA (via TV Line) are coming just a couple of months after

actor Kunal Nayyar said he didn\'t know what was going to happen and that all he really knew was that his contract is coming up. Series lead Kaley Cuoco has been a little more positive in her assessments, noting that she and the rest of the cast really "want to be here." Of course, there\'s always the possibility that not every member of the cast feels the same way. One or two cast members on the series could always decide not to come back, but considering the hefty gravy train the cast is currently riding on and considering they will have the opportunity to re-up for more money moving forward, I can\'t see why anyone would want to bow out at this point in the show\'s history.

, the comedy is going to kick off on Monday nights like it has for the past few seasons, starting on September 19 at 8 p.m. ET. Then, it will head to Thursday nights after football is over.
