It actually worked! I was watching S2 and my sis came over and I convinced her to watch one episode- this was the disc that was in and after Nightshifter was over, she asked to watch another ep! After that she borrowed my dvds and now she's as hooked as me. :)

I have been watching Supernatural from the beginning and now my best friend has started after I made her watch Yellow fever. And now SHE IS HOOKED! IT's our favorite episode of the entire series (so far)!

This was my 1st full episode and ive been in love with the series ever since!

Now that I think of it Lazarus Rising wouldn't be such a smart choice. Not because you would get confused. But it gaves way too much away.My cousin is trying to catch up he is on the last episodes on season three and they were giving Lazarus Rising the other day and I said don't watch it.

I got hooked through my sister, who had the dvd's. I watched the pilot, and that was it - instantly addicted! It spread like crazy through family, friends, friends' friends - it was like, "come on, watch just the first episode, you'll love this show, gaurantee it..." and yeah, it worked! :)

Every episode is great and it´s difficult to decide which episode is the best for winning a new fan. I think it is necessary what for a typ the person is. So I chose Mystery Spot, because it´s a funny and tragic episode. But I also like Tall Tales, because it´s very funny and not so scary. It´s also a good start.

I am a strong believer that you should start watching a show from the begging to really appreciate it! I guess I'm just ol'fashioned that way LOL :D
But pretty much any episode is able to win over a new fan! The pilot is no exception, you've got all the elements of SPN; brotherly bonding, spooky goings on, grossness, the car, the music, what more could you ask for to get someone hooked?!?!

What an interesting question,fanfly.Even though,Jus In Bello and Lazarus Rising are one of my all-time fav episodes,I don't think it would intrigue someone new to continue watching the show.The Pilot is a classic SPN ep.It is an introduction to what is coming in head.

hehe, I like order, so I start from the beginning... Usually people act like: "Whatever, it's not all that...", and a couple of minutes later they ask me: "What happens next, though, do they find their dad?"- and my response is simple and genial.
"Mwaahahahah!"

I agree with em_em.I also think that it's better to watch a show from the first episode because otherwise you might get confused about the plot.And in SPN's case,the Pilot is a great episode!

i picked a funny episode :D Lol, it's creepy and hilarious what's not to like :D

the pilot definitely...to be able to love and understand wht supernatural is all about you gotta the see the season1 and what better way to start than with the pilot! :)

of course the pilot too, but seriously. if i showed one of my friends this episode, they would start watch the show right the way! :D

Personaly I got hooked from Crossroad Blues, but for the people I've tried to get in to the show I always start with the pilot, and I also know if they will enjoy it after one line, when Sam is talking about their childhood, and says that John gave him a .45 when he said he was scared of the monster in the closet, if they laugh at that, they will get the show, if not, well there is still hope for them, but you get that line, and your in.

All you need to see is a little bit of Sam and Dean to get hooked hehe!

this is the first episode that i watch spn!i think people love it because its very funny:D

So they understand the full story but i actually got my sister hooked on it with the first episode of Season 4 lol But i got several others hooked on the pilot but they only liked it because of Jensen or Jared but so, after that they were hooked lol I'm such a supernatural pimp lol if that makes any sense

I actually did this with 2 of my best friends who had never seen an episode before. I had to explain a HELLUVALOT to them about Michael and Lucifer, but they got really into it and really enjoyed it. They said they could finally understand my obsession a tiny bit! Lol :)

I usually don't like carry around my season one but I usually have three of my favorite episodes that I carry around on my iPod. I usually show my friends who are interested in it or wanting to watch it one of those episodes but if I need to, I'll most likely show them from the beginning.
I've got at least five or four people hooked by just telling them about it and letting them watch it on their own time but most of the time, I started it :)
