I agree with Dean-girlx! They're too much alike- both thinking they know best. That's why they butt heads.

While Dean and John had similar interest like their taste in music and their love for the impala- Sam and John are alike in personality like being obsessed with yellow eyes and now all Sam thinks about is killing lillth so they're both really revenge driven. I think Dean is more like Mary.

Dammit! That is so true! Usually when people are a lot like, they fight all the time.

well i picked both, Dean has the will to fight for his family and he has the fighting power to keep going hunting just like john did, Sam has the stubborn thing and the will to get his revenge just like john. So it's hard to pick one. ;-)

Sam, he reminds me of his dad when he was younger, sensitive, sweet and kind, and also they reacted the same way when the woman of their lives were murdured, gone was the sweetness and now he's an increasingly obssessed man who is doing a lot of the same mistakes his dad did, putting revenge before his family. Dean is like is mum in their wanting to be safe and for their family to be safe. (sorry for a not longer explanation, I sprained my wrist during that big snow-show in London!)

yeah he is! in MANY ways..well,for starters...he does keep many secrets from Dean...it's amazing how big his secrets are...kinda like john's were(i mean a 3rd bro?!if thats true...and then what else is next!?!)...i get it that Sam's tryin' to protect his bro but how long b4 it becomes a matter of trust..and he thinks "maybe i can't trust Dean,he won't understand" he is doing it already!!

I mean, they always say that Sam is most like him, but I don't think so. What with his love for classic rock and all that and his straight-forward want to kill all evil without a second thought (shoot now, ask questions later policy), I think Dean is. And that's why Papa Winchester secretly liked Sam more, for being an individual.

Yep, in many ways Sam is most like John. They both stubbornly clung to what they thought was most important in their lives - John hunting Azazel, and Sam wanting to go to college and be 'normal'. Dean always had a strong sense of duty and a love of the hunt that made him a perfect hunting companion and ally to John. But normally you do butt heads with the person you are most like...just because you're so much alike and know exactly how to push each other's buttons. John had two terrific sons - and he knew it!!
