I do believe they are living things, especially (My Idol) the Dark Star. After all, it was autonomous, had a life energy, desires to rule the world, and was able to transform によって absorbing DNA-The coding of life. And, they're a species. I think they can have genders, although don't have the proper DNA. I don't think all stars are living, though.
