But I see it differently. I see a slave boy who lived in sand all his life, finally freed of it. But his mother, still trapped in the sand, is tortured によって a band of Tusken Raiders. When he tried to save her, she died in his arms with sand all around them.
Anakin definitely had a reason to hate the sand. It's quite sad not many people actually understand the reason, however.
