Spike did so much more for Buffy than Angel ever did. He gave up more, he fought more, he even got his soul for her.

Spike and Buffy. Like what frankthe2nd said, Spike went through hell just to the man that she deserves. And what about the werewolf chick that Angel was seeing before the war in LA. How come no one's mentioned her?

I'm so getting sick of this "in my heart" bs that spike and buffy fans use to justify the fact that she meant her I love you. My grandma is in my heart, my ex-best friend is in my heart, and even my english teacher is in my heart (and I don't have a crush on him at all so don't go there). Buffy belongs with Angel not just because I love them together, but because,as AngelusB said, she should be with who she wants. She wants Angel forever.

So, if you are so "sick" of other people's opinions, why do you even bother reading them? Because people who come here search for a respectfull and mature discussion.

The "in my heart" line was not even needed for me, as a Spuffy fan, to know that Buffy loved Spike. I knew it by the end of season 7. Buffy was deadly offended when Spike told her the night they spent in Touched was a mistake. She ran and stopped him in the doorway, called him a "dope" and told him how much that night meant to her. She told him she was "there with him". Pretty damn sure I wouldn't tell all that to my English teacher or to someone I don't have romantic feelings for.

You act like others are ALWAYS respectful when engaging in the bangel vs. spuffy debate. It's called being passionate; you know, the best of us human beings possess that pesky trait. Even buffy did not know what the hell she was talking about when she said that she was "there with him". You want to talk proof? How about "I thought that what the final episode did very well was admit that Buffy is in love with angel," said by Marsters himself. That pretty much says it all.

First of all, I wasn't being disrespectfull to your opinion by saying that I'm "sick of it". I read your point of view and I respectfully disagreed. We are all fans and we are all crazy and passionate about our couples. But why not trying to be respectfull to each other's opinions at least?

Second - actors have nothing to do with script and plot. David Boreanaz made a lot of comments supporting Cordelia/Angel but it doesn't mean they do equal Joss' vision.

Third - Joss admitted that "Buffy was IN LOVE with Spike when their hands clasped". And no, I wouldn't tell my teacher I "was there with him" after spending the whole night cuddling with him, lord have mercy. And that's true that Buffy was not sure of her feelings, because that happens, it took me a long time before I figured out what I felt for a person I fell in love with; all Buffy was sure about was the fact that she wanted more from Spike than just friendship when she stopped him in the doorway and told him that this night meant to her as much as it did to him.

And finally, Buffy WAS still in love with Angel. No doubts about it. But she was in love with Spike too. Canon says so, Buffy says so, Joss says so.

Your first section just repeated what I said. I said we should be respectful, but passion can understandably take over in heated debate. You were trying to make it seem as if everyone besides me who engages in the bangel vs. spuffy debate is respectful and mature, which is NOT often the case.
Obviously, Boreanaz said a few supportive things about c/a because they were the flagship couple on HIS show; however, he always maintained that Buffy was Angel's "one true one".
You are definitely good at twisting words, I'll give you that. You said that Buffy told Spike the night meant a lot to her and that you wouldn't tell THAT to your teacher. I never said that I would tell my teacher I was "there with him", nor would I spend the night cuddling with him.
Buffy did not want any more from Spike; she just needed some comfort because she was stressed. Anyways, the actors may not make the script, but if even they, the ones who are supposed to most relate to and be the champion of their characters, are not convinced of the love story, then that says it all. Marsters knew spike was not the one. You cannot be IN LOVE with two people at once.
Buffy never said she was in love with Spike, and Joss only instructed the actors to play the scene for the romance because that's just smart directing. Joss says a lot of things. He also said that buffy and angel are "an eternal love" and that "their relationship transcends everything"; his job is to play devil's advocate in order to rile up discussions like these within the fan base and keep interest in the show alive. Somewhere Joss is currently licking his chops.

If we accept what actors say as canon then we would get like 100000 canon SL's and endings that do not contribute to the real story whatsoever.

Obviously Buffy would not have jumped into the bed (I mean suxually) with Spike at that point. They needed to go through a lot before starting their relationship all over. They were not in a romantic relationship at that point, but the FEELINGS they had for each other were romantic as Joss clearly stated (not hinted, but stated). And whatever intentions you might see behind Joss' words he is the boss and he is the creator and he made it more than clear that Buffy loved both Angel and Spike and while Bangel were "kiddy romance" in his own words, Spuffy were "very grown up, romantic and confusing".

I was in love with two people at ones. And many people were.

Buffy wanted more than just friendship from Spike and, as much as confused she was and as much as complecated her feelings were at that point, she told him about being "tired of mixed signals", she also told him that the night they spent together meant just as much to her as it did to him after he told her it was the best night of his life.

She was upset when he didn't let her to stay and told her he has a pride. Then when he stopped her and brought her back, she said "oh, thank god", being relieved, and touched his face gently. She didn't need to do any of it and she didn't need to be upset if she did not have feelings for Spike.

The fact that you completely missed the point of what I said, because you are further proving it, tells me that I do not need to continue this conversation.(The word is once by the way).
