I was bullied at school quite a lot - right from reception. A lot of it was because as my parents were Jehovah's Witnesses - I wasn't allowed to celebrate Christmas, Easter, Halloween, etc. Also kids would say I looked weird, walked funny, ran funny, etc. Of course I know now that it was just kids being kids - they didn't know any better, but unfortunately the sub-conscious mind doesn't forget what was at the time 'emotionally traumatic'.

Yes,but verbally only.There were just two kids and some girls I had to hang out with because I couldn't have real friends and I didn't want people to see me alone and feel sorry for me.They called me stupid basically in front of others sometimes because I couldn't defend myself and I seemed weak due to social anxiety disorder but I didn't know I had it then.I thought that I was only an idiot because since I didn't know I couldn't find a rational explanation for the fact that I was totally myself with my family while I was so stressed with other kids.Social anxiety disorder is a PHOBIA like phobia of spiders,heights,illnesses and any other phobia.NEVER blame yourself for it because ITS NOT YOUR FAULT!!!!!!!!!!Dont listen to people who underestimate you because they don't know how it feels living with social phobia.BELIEVE IN YOURSELFS!!!!!!!!!!If you talk about it and get the right help of some professional I am sure you can fight it and manage to be yourselfs because this is the most important.
