are the first silent 丘, ヒル and silent 丘, ヒル shattered memories the same?

now before あなた brush this off as stupid hear me out okay so i'm very new to the silent 丘, ヒル series and have only played one game so far. the reason i'm asking is because i read the summery to the first game and it sounded extremly similer to shattered memories i'm going to play the game either way but i was just curious
