Doug is unfortunate enough to have everything fall apart around him.

I was just wondering if the writers named him Murphy because of Murphy's Law - "Whatever can go wrong, will go wrong"

Does anybody know if my thought is correct?

lol... thats pretty good explanation for it, but i personally dont think there's a reason behind naming him Murphy, just a coincidence. Would be funny if thats the reason tho.
