If he usually mean to you, but in a non - bullying way. Like a teasing mean (Such as this)

If so then, it's a bit twisted way to do it, but he may be trying to get あなた jealous. Perhaps if あなた play the same trick あなた could get him to come to you.

If he doesn't usually tease あなた または whatnot, then he may actually just be telling あなた to bugger off.

It all depends on what his normal behaviour towards あなた is :3
