It's kind of like he's calling her stupid, like he is saying she is just about smart enough to do it. It’s kind of an insult, but if I got called that, I wouln’t really care and just forget about it. =)

Well he did imply that she was stupid, but I've known フレンズ to taunt each other like that. Overall, I firmly belive that he was just teasing her.

Well, maybe it's because he 発言しました it in a way that implied he meant 'just about fine'. But I don't know... I wouldn't've been offended. :P

Eh, I don't know. It didn't sound very insulting to me. XD I guess he did kind of imply that she was only 'fine' in terms of intelligence. I still think Marlene overreacted. But then again, フレンズ do overreact to those things in a teasing way sometimes.
