FADE IN:
We focus onto what appears an abandoned battle field.

Streets are littered with broken glass shatters, turned over
dumpsters, trash and other debris of buildings. The aftermath
of a riot.

DISTRICT 8.


INT. DISTRICT 8 BUILDING- 日

Even inside, the rioters have done their job. The destroyed
room is framed によって smashed in windows, words and other
graffiti soak in on the walls. Small flames of 火災, 火 arise
from different areas.

The beginnings of an Uprising.

FADE OUT.


EXT. DISTRICT 12 WOODS- MORNING
Hands stiffly trace out the cracks and crevices of a large
rock.

KATNISS EVERDEEN, on a large rock, ponders over her own
thoughts. Silent, we can still feel her contemplations. Every
despair, ever emotion with them.

The sun shines, but no feel of warm comes. In fact, many
spots in the 草 and the plants look slightly frosted.

Her eyes shift around rapidly, almost as if she’s afraid to
even look at her own self.

A soft light sneaks into the corners of the shot, and they
illustrate into a new vision.

The shots are quick, flipping back and forth to Katniss on
the rock. In them we can see…

GALE’s face, confused. Them both, Together.

Hunting, in the woods.

Katniss’s face.

Gale’s. Gale appears to begin to 移動する

But we are interrupted によって Katniss’s face, present time,
looking sad to be remembering.-

Gale’s face, sort of relived, but still a tint of worry,
retreats, into the overcoming light.

Katniss rests her head on her head.


EXT. COAL MINE- SAME TIME

Miners uniformed line up, walking forward.

Many of them load up into the elevator, among them, GALE
HAWTHORN. The tight spaces enclose around him and he is not
comfortable being squeezed within the claustrophobic
surroundings.

The elevator goes down.


EXT. DISTRICT 12 WOODS- MORNING

Katniss climbs through the electrified fence.


EXT. DISTRICT 12- MORNING

Katniss stands before a familiar house, her house.


INT. KATNISS’S HOUSE- MORNING

Katniss enters the empty vacant house. The rooms are
furnished, yet no signs of life appear.

She moves to the kitchen. The absence of the little 食 that
was once there may be noticeable. The eating 表, テーブル is barren,
no cloth over it. She brushes a finger across its surface.

A SHRIEKING comes from the side of the room.

Throughout a window, BUTTERCUP, looking less raggedy than
usual, sprints thought.

Katniss reluctantly holds him, stoking his back.

KATNISS
あなた miss it too?

It gives out a very pampered like pur.

KATNISS (CONT’D)
I guess sometimes, ホーム never
changes.

The cat looks at her obliviously.

KATNISS (CONT’D)
Come on.

She sits up, and heads out the door.


EXT. DISTRICT 12 VICTOR’S VILLAGE- MORNING

Katniss, Buttercup’s head poking out of her bag, and a sack
holding a liquor bottle, runs past a sign: VICTOR’S VILLAGE.

The Victor’s Village consists of a small neighborhood of nice
houses lined up in two, short rows.

At the end of the row of unvacant houses, lies the only run
down looking house, only to have the dirty plague HAYMI_CH
ABER_ATHY: VICTOR OF GAME 50 standing before it.

Surrounding the house, lies the two only houses that 表示する
life, one being held to KATNISS EVERDEEN: CO-VICTOR OF GAME

INT. HAYMITCH’S HOUSE- MORNING

Haymitch snores the 日 away slumped in his キッチン 表, テーブル
chair.

Katniss enters, looking disappointed at the flaming gas
stove. She puts out the flames with a filthy dish rag によって the
sink.

Katniss turns to Haymitch, still drunk, asleep, または both. A
splash of cold water is thrown on him.

HAYMITCH
(Slurred)
What are あなた doing?

KATNISS
My job. あなた told me to wake me up

He looks at her in disbelief.

KATNISS (CONT’D)
Your idea, not mine.

He finds the strength to sit up.

KATNISS (CONT’D)
I brought あなた a treat.

She shows him the liquor bottle, and slides it to him on the
table.

KATNISS (CONT’D)
Not that あなた need any now.

Ignoring her input, he’s already opening the bottle, and
pouring its contents into his used glass.

HAYMITCH
Nice advice, sweetheart.

He takes a drink.

HAYMITCH (CONT’D)
And 次 time あなた wake me up, try
not to give me pneumonia.

He gestures to his soaked シャツ sleeves.

The sound of the door brings both of their attention to the
entrance on the kitchen, in which PEETA MELLAEK enters
through.

Without speaking, he tosses Haymitch a small loaf of bread.

He grabs it, and holds it up to his drink.

HAYMITCH (CONT’D)
Looks like あなた ロスト the race this
time.

PEETA
You’re welcome.

Haymitch ignores him as he gets ロスト in his drinks.

HAYMITCH
あなた know, あなた two should start
talking a little more. Its not like
this crowd’s going to be expecting
星, つ星 crossed 恋愛中 または anything.

They both roll their eyes, even though knowing its true.

HAYMITCH (CONT’D)
I’d suggest warming up a little-

PEETA
Take a bath, Haymitch.
