	kellyerin87 picked Lindsey: So, my first instinct to this question was initially Brooke. She's clearly the obvious choice, when you first think about it. But after really considering all of the options... I think Lindsey had it pretty rough too. She was much further invested in her relationship with Lucas, than Brooke was... or Jake or Julian were with Peyton. She was prepared to MARRY Lucas. She had the ring, she had the dress, and she was standing at the altar... next to the guy that she fully planned on spending the REST of her life with. Then bam, her entire future gets put in jeopardy, because of Lucas' unresolved feelings for someone else. It wasn't just a common dating relationship that was being interfered with... it was a potential marriage. And I'm not trying to downplay Brucas, Jeyton, or Pulian's relationships, or feelings for eachother... because it's obvious that love was still involved in all of them. But to me, I don't think you can compare the severity of those relationships to that of a couple who are about to be married. Lindcas had reached the point of agreeing to commit to eachother for a lifetime... the other relationships listed never made it that far. I think most people's initial reaction is to choose Brooke, simply because of the fact that we've SEEN her hurt more often on screen. She cried more times, she yelled more times, she pittied herself more times, she showed her feelings of betrayal more times. We saw all of those emotions from her quite often. But we also have to remember, that that was back in high school. It was just much more about petty, common drama for a teenage girl in a highschool relationship. Again, not to say that her love for Lucas was any less real... because she definitely did love him. But her relationship with Lucas wasn't as mature, and grounded as Lindsey's relationship with him was. She didn't make it as far with him, or agree to commit to him as much as Lindsey did. Lindsey's whole future was on the line, when it came to Lucas. Plus, not to mention that I think it was easier for Brooke to move on from her situation. Because at the end of the day, both her and Lucas ultimately agreed that they weren't meant to be. Lindsey never had that closure with him. Yes, she acted as though she was "rooting for the couple in the book"... but she never acknowledged that she no longer loved Lucas, or that they were better off as friends. She clearly still very much loved him, and told him that she missed him everyday, that missing him was "all she did". We saw that love up until her very last scene in season 6, when Lucas went to meet with her in NY, and we saw that she wrote "I'm proud of you, I love you" on the inside of his book. Those feelings for her were (clearly, and openly) still very real. But she simply had no choice but to step aside, because Lucas had those feelings for someone else. By Brooke's senior year of high school, she was able to fully accept Leyton, move on to a new relationship herself, and even say "I love you" to someone else. As opposed to Lindsey, who we saw still saying "I love you" to Lucas, during her last episode. Those wounds and feelings appeared to run much deeper for her, we never saw her heal from it. But then again... I can understand why people would pick Brooke too. Because let's face it. While her triangle drama was back in high school... unlike Lindsey, she got betrayed by both the boy she loved, AND her best friend. posted １年以上前. last edited １年以上前
