This is yet another sad day for One Direction fans. Louis and girlfriend Eleanor have called it quits. The couple had been together for four years.

Louis Tomlinson, 23, is a newly single man. The One Direction singer and longtime girlfriend Eleanor Calder, 22, have split. Louis is “really upset” over the breakup after trying so hard to “make it work” amidst 1D’s massive fame.

“Louis and Eleanor split up two weeks ago,” his rep told us. “They have not announced this as they wanted some privacy during this time.”

Louis has been busy with his One Direction world tour. Unfortunately, the distance worked against Louis and Eleanor.

“Louis is really upset about it all,” a friend of Louis told the outlet. “They tried really hard to make it work but it was just impossible, he’s away for nine months a year and they just grew apart.”

The couple had been dating since 2011. HollywoodLife.com learned EXCLUSIVELY back in 2012 that Louis was determined to make it work with Eleanor even with the band’s extreme fame. “If your heart’s in it, then you’re not gonna mess about,” he told us.

This hasn’t been the best week for One Direction. Zayn Malik left the band’s world tour due to “stress,” and he’s dealing with an incredibly messy cheating scandal.

Fans photos hit the web of Zayn allegedly holding hands with Lauren Rich. This sent the One Direction fandom into a tailspin since Zayn is still engaged to Perrie Edwards

Zayn decided to take a break from the tour due to “stress,” but HollywoodLife.com found out that Perrie gave him an ultimatum. “Zayn leaving the 1D tour for stress reasons also has a lot to do with Perrie telling him to come home,” a source told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY.

Zayn apologized for the PDA pics but denied that he cheated on Perrie. He’s going to have some serious making up to do. Perrie’s finding it hard to move forward.

“She’s finding it hard to get the images of Zayn with the fan in the Thailand nightclub out of her head,” a source told us.
