what do あなた think of this theory on whale's counterpart?

i'm thinking that since its pretty clear his counterpart is some kind of scientist which doesnt make a lot of sense to me since electricity wasnt around in fairytale land unless it was actually magic. i think towards the end, whale's counterpart is the victim of an experiment gone wrong and he accidently is turned into the 鯨, クジラ from pinnocho. either that または he's turned into the 鯨, クジラ によって punishment. i hope this is a good theory
