We caught up with Karen Harding, the babin’ singer behind the hit ‘Say Something’

Describe your sound in five words: House, Rnb, (hints of) garage, Whitney, Vocal.

What was your big break into the industry: I think it was putting a few covers up on youtube and getting noticed by the very talented MNEK, and because of this we wrote Say Something together! I think that people will know my name from my first single, so far!

What are you working on at the moment: Working on the next single which i’m really excited about! Also, working with some amazing producers on some features coming out!

What’s on the agenda for the rest of 2015: Music video for the second single and working really hard to put together a really good album for everyone to hear. So exciting!

Who’s your guilty pleasure most played: Oh! I have too many of these! I absolutely love a bit of Tina Turner!

What’s the last thing you listened to: Oo, I think it was ‘The Internet – Girl (ft Kaytranada)

What song do you want to be playing as you walk into the club: ALWAYS! Chaka Khan – Ain’t Nobody. Everybody can get down to that! old school vibes

If you could collab with anyone who would it be: That’s tough. I’d love to do a song with Disclosure as I love their sound. I’d also love to have a good old sing off with Christina Aguilera (childhood dream!)

 What item of clothing can’t you live without: high waisted jeans

What items do you make sure you pack on tour: bright lipstick, my go-to heels that go with everything!

Who is your style icon and why: Whitney Houston, I love her style, she maintained a classic look and never looked over the top. Always rocking the leather jacket with some amazing jeans for a casual look.

Where do you look for fashion inspiration: Instagram is pretty amazing for finding inspiration but i also like to watch old music video from the 8o’s, sequins yes please!

What best describes your style on stage: I love a good playsuit with a killer pair of heels! also really like combo outfits and dresses all with some huge earrings, big hair and heels!

What’s your favourite fashion trend this season and why: Oh! i’m not sure if it’s in season but i’m loving how much denim is around, you can’t go wrong with a nice denim dress.

If you could steal anyone’s wardrobe who’s would it be: Solange. She always wears amazing colours and classic outfits
