"DIE ANOTHER DAY" (2002) Review

The 2002 movie, ”DIE ANOTHER DAY” marked several milestones in the James Bond franchise. One, it was released during the 40th anniversary of the cinematic Bond, which began with 1962’s ”DR. NO”. Two, it was the first time that a non-white actress portrayed the leading lady in a Bond film. And three, it happened to be Pierce Brosnan’s last Bond film for EON Productions . . . at the moment.

”DIE ANOTHER DAY” starts out with a mission in which Bond has to kill a North Korean army officer named Colonel Moon, who has been illegally selling military...

"YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE" (1967) Review

In 最近 years, EON Production’s 1967 movie, "YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE" has not been highly regarded によって many Bond fans. In a way, I can understand why, judging によって Sean Connery’s performance in his fifth consecutive turn as James Bond and the movie’s plot.

The plot begins with the abduction of an American 宇宙 capsule in 宇宙 によって a mysterious craft. The U.S. government blames the Soviet government, but the British government, who has tracked the mysterious craft to Japan, where James Bond is sent to investigate. With the help of Tiger Tanaka and Japan’s...

"ON HER MAJESTY’S SECRET SERVICE" (1969) Review

At least ten years または もっと見る must have passed since I last saw the 1969 Bond movie, "ON HER MAJESTY’S SECRET SERVICE (OHMSS)". EON Production’s sixth entry in the Bond franchise has the distinction of being the only movie that starred Australian male model-turned-actor, George Lazenby. It was the first EON movie that did not 星, つ星 Sean Connery – already fixed in the public’s mind as the only actor who can portray James Bond. And it was the only movie that was directed によって former film editor, Peter Hunt.

I first became aware of “OHMSS”...

I just saw it for a 秒 time and it diminished in my eyes a bit. 全体, 全体的です I think it's a 上, ページのトップへ 7 film または so in the pantheon of Bond, but もっと見る than just the traditional elements were lacking. I think I got caught up in the fervor of the action in my first comments.

First, off it was just too short. I can only imagine how much might have been left on Forster's editing room floor. もっと見る chemistry and banter with Fields? Those moments were such pure joy; perhaps as they were so fleeting. I would have like to have seen the characters developed もっと見る fully. The chemistry was there from the ensemble...

"QUANTUM OF SOLACE" (2008) Review

I am going to be perfectly frank. I had hesitated to write this review of the 2008 James Bond movie, ”QUANTUM OF SOLACE”. Why? Because it has left me in a daze.Four days have passed since I saw the movie and I am still experiencing slight feelings of confusion about it. I had considered delaying my review until a 秒 viewing, but I decided to go ahead and write my first impressions of the film.

”QUANTUM OF SOLACE” is obviously a direct sequel of the 21st film in the Bond franchise, ”CASINO ROYALE”. The 前 movie ended with James Bond’s (Daniel...

"DR. NO" (1962) Review

his 1962 movie marked the cinematic debut of the Bond franchise, created によって Cubby ブロッコリ, ブロッコリー and Harry Saltzman (EON Productions). Sean Connery also made his debut in this film as the MI-6 agent, James Bond. Although many critics and ファン consider film as one of the もっと見る impressive in the franchise, I honestly cannot say that I share their opinion.

”DR. NO”’s story starts with the murder of MI-6 agent Strangeways and his secretary によって a trio of assassins in Jamaica. Bond is ordered によって his superior, M, to investigate the agent’s death and eventually stumbles upon a...

"GOLDFINGER" (1964) Review"

Ever since its release in 1964, the James Bond movie, "GOLDFINGER" has been regarded as one of the best ever in the franchise. In fact, it is considered によって many Bond ファン as the franchise's definitive film, considering that it もっと見る または less created what is known as "the Bond formula".

The 1959 Ian Fleming novel, upon which the movie is based, is also highly regarded によって some fans. However, others believe that the movie is an improvement on the literary version. While I agree that the movie, "GOLDFINGER" is an improvement over the novel, I have a rather low opinion of...

"SKYFALL" (2012) Review

Before I had sat down in a movie theater to watch the latest James Bond movie, "SKYFALL", it occurred to me that four years had passed since the last movie about the MI-6 agent. During those four years, EON Productions endured another round of legal entanglements regarding the Bond franchise, delaying the production and release of "SKYFALL" によって at least two years. But in the end, producers Barbara ブロッコリ, ブロッコリー and Michael G. Wilson came through and released the company's 23rd James Bond film.

"SKYFALL" begins in Istanbul, Turkey; where MI-6 agents James Bond and "Eve" go after...

"OCTOPUSSY" (1983) Review

While perusing some of the Bond forums, I have noticed that 1983’s ”OCTOPUSSY” is not highly regarded によって many fans. Personally, I have always found this hard to understand または accept, considering that the movie has been one of my お気に入り entries in the Bond franchise for years. But after watching it recently . . . I still do not understand its low standing amongst the fans.

The pre-title sequence for "OCTOPUSSY" is merely a little teaser about Bond’s attempt to sabotage a ミサイル system in the バナナ Republic (aka Cuba). It was light, humorous and filled with...

Before watching my DVD copy of 2006’s ”CASINO ROYALE” for the upmteenth time, I had assumed that my initial enthusiasm toward the 21st James Bond thriller would dim with time. I felt certain that I would have enough of the fictional British Secret Service agent. Needless to say, my assumptions proved to be wrong. I managed to enjoy ”CASINO ROYALE” もっと見る than ever. It has become firmly entrenched as my 秒 お気に入り Bond movie of all time, following 1969’s ”ON HER MAJESTY’S SECRET SERVICE”.

From the black-and-white opening shot of MI-6 Section Chief Dryden arriving at his...

About four days later, in another part of North Korea. A colonel named Lu Hatata walked into the room where the launch codes were. "Have あなた came up with new launch codes?" He asked a technician

The technician was too busy with his work, and didn't here what Hatata had 発言しました to him.

"Have あなた came up with new launch codes?!" The colonel asked again, もっと見る louder this time.

"No." The technician replied.

"Then あなた need to hurry up with your work. We must get them back as quickly as possible."

A captain walked in "Sir? Your flight to Chicago is all set." He said.

"Thank you." Replied the colonel....

"MOORE AS BOND"

I always found it odd that many Bond ファン tend to dismiss Roger Moore's performances as a non-threatening Bond. While watching the "Special Features" segment for my "CASINO ROYALE" DVD, I saw the "Bond Girls Are Forever" segment in which Jane Seymour described her character's relationship with Moore's Bond. From what she and Maud Adams had said, I got the distinct impression that in his own way, Moore's Bond was just as ruthless as the other Bonds.

Unlike his fellow Bond actors, Moore’s ruthlessness usually did not involve grittiness of any kind または overt menace. Judging from...

Recently, I have been perusing the Internet for 記事 and フォーラム on EON Productions’ newest Bond flick, “CASINO ROYALE”. Naturally, I came across scores of 記事 and reviews on both the new and past Bond movies. I also checked several フォーラム that focused upon the Bond franchise. The one topic that popped up without fail seemed to be the 質問 of which actor portrayed the best James Bond.

The character of James Bond, Agent 007, has been portrayed によって six actors for EON Productions and in two unofficial Bond films during the past 52 years. In 1954, American actor Barry Nelson portrayed...
