I love when Rose spites in his face

I dislike Cal, but he was only a self-serving jerk, Ruth was a ruthless person who didn't much care about her daughter's happiness, just her own needs.

I'd never pick Cal. He actually rules, but Ruth... I remember the scene when Jack was teaching Rose how to "spit like a man" and he met her mother. The look in her eyes... freezing

Cal is doubtless a jerk, but Ruth pratically sells her daughter even if she knows perfectly that Rose isn't happy. I've always been thinking that Cal should have married Ruth.

The "detective guy" was just doing his job, trying to keep people safe. He deserves no apathy.

Cal and Ruth were selfish, but they were only as good as the times they were living in. Classism and domestic abuse were common, widely accepted things. We cant expect them to have the same morals we do.

Ruth was a stuck up, snobby woman. I get it, that's how they were back then but she was awful and Cal was an abusive, controlling man. He was just as awful. If I were to have been engaged to a man like him, I probably would have killed myself. I also didn't like Lovejoy..
