Come on! He is THE DOCTOR!!!!!!
Besides if he was in Azkaban, he would call up the TARDIS and fly away!!!! He is Barty CrouchJr in dusguise, he just wanted to see what Wizards are like, they are very different aliens from what The Doctor has seen!
Most people choosing no are just choosing that because David Tennant is the person who plays him.. which is kinda stupid in my opinion. Does David Tennant play him in the books, because I dont remember? ...
For which crime? And of course yes. Being hot doesn't excuse someone of a crime. Forget David Tennant and focus on what he did. He helped torture a young couple, who had a baby, to insanity! They don't even recognise their son anymore and have to live, full time, under special care in a hospital. That's something that deserves punishment.
He was a Death Eater and so certainly commited crimes - most likely with the unforgivable curses too, so of course he deserved to be imprisoned. But Azkaban is too inhumane place. No one deserves to be sent there - especially for life.
And it's not confirmed in the book that he had helped torture the Longbottoms. When are people going to get it?
1.) Jo put weight on, in the writing and storytelling, that he may NOT have been involved and that is bound to mean something. In the least that he didn't take part in it so simply and cruelly, of out of his free will. Suppose he was under the Imperius Curse. (It's always a possibility! We know nothing of his DE time at those days! I don't think he was under the curse but can't dismiss the possibility.) Or he may have been completely innocent of the Longbottom torture.
2.) And she wrote Junior lose his will to live, to die, within a year in Azkaban. Which supports my point number one. As in, doesn't seem like a cold-blooded torturer to me.
And as said, in any case, no one deserves Azkaban.
he would have found way to escape again anyways cuz its been proven several times that escaping from Azkaban isnt impossible, he's better off as he is, but i would have preferred him gone insane with the torture during interrogration and he loses his mind, but i doubt that would happen cuz barty is very aware on who he is and strong willed, he would have kept coming back for more til he actually kill harry or someone he cared about, so dementor's kiss...karma.
Unless the asker meant 'instead of being Kissed?' In which case . . . it wouldn't have really mattered. Voldemort released all the Death Eaters from Azkaban a few months later.
He wasn't that bad, he seemed to like Harry, he helped him with the imperious curse why would he do that? He wasn't 100% evil so he deserved a chance to repent.
He helped Bellatrix torture Frank and Alice Longbottom into insanity. He was a murderer, a kidnapper, a fraud, sadistic and cruel. Really, he was kind of crazy. He should be locked away. But I can't help but feel sorry for anyone who is sentenced to Azkaban. It's a truly horrid place. I'm not sure if anyone deserves such a fate, even some of the most evil characters in the books.
Rather than being Kissed, anyway. He knew what he was doing, so of course I believe he deserved to be punished. On another hand, I agree with roseteaxx.
Yes,but I kinda wonder what was Severus's expression as he watched Barty Crouch Jr's soul got sucked out of his body. I'm not disusting....just curious.
He shouldn't have has the demontor's kiss though.
