Slumdog Millionaire and Juno had WAY lower budgets than the Twilight films had. But what really made them so successful was not the budget but the plot of the actual movie. Both Slumdog and Juno have wonderful plots but Twilight's plot is (don't attack me here Twilight fans) weak. It really doesn't matter about budget. What matters is substance, acting, and plot. Since critics don't necessarily like the Twilight Saga then nothing would be no difference :/
