Can 35 Million Book Buyers Be Wrong? Yes. (For HP fans)

Have あなた guys read link? If あなた haven't it's not that long. My English class read this when I was absent, of course, and I would have loved to have heard the discussion. But anyway...

What do あなた guys think about it? Where is he wrong? Why is he wrong?

My opinion: One of the main things that makes me mad is that he bases his entire argument off of only the first book. And why can't people just let the ファン enjoy the 本 without having to nitpick? (Which is where I stand with people arguing over Twilight, too.)

I would 愛 to rant about this, haha, but I want to see what y'all say. Discuss.

This person makes me mad. For one thing, he admits that he hasn't read the entire series, and then goes on to complain about certain things that weren't addressed. It doesn't even make sense.
Though the book is not well written
If he's going to make this statement, shouldn't he give reasons? Unless his reasons are the "there's holes in the first of a seven book series and eleven 年 old kids aren't having orgies every night."
I will keep in mind that a host are 読書 it who simply will not read superior fare, such as Kenneth Grahame's "The Wind in the Willows" または the "Alice" 本 of Lewis Carroll.
I am so, so very tired of people assuming HP ファン have only, and will only -as he later says- read HP. I hadn't read "Alice" before I read HP, but I'd read other 本 によって Carroll. I don't really consider him to be a "superior fare" author.
The young future sorcerers are just like any other budding Britons, only もっと見る so, sports and 食 being primary preoccupations.
Yes, the fact that the protagonist is an eleven 年 old boy who's interested in sports in no way shape または form is why sports are so important to the series. It has to be because they're British.
(Sex barely enters into Rowling's cosmos, at least in the first volume.)
Why does he make this sound like a bad thing? The main character is eleven. I know that now (and back even in 2000, when this was written) that eleven 年 old kids have sex, but this book isn't set in the now, it's set in the early 90's. I don't know about Britain, but even in America, there weren't many eleven 年 olds that were trying to stick it to anything that moved.
Precisely why poor Harry is handed over によって the sorcerer elders to his priggish aunt and uncle is never clarified によって Rowling
Nope. The seven または eight times Rowling addresses this never happens. It was also never 投稿されました on the internet for people to read either.
rather than let him be reared によって amiable warlocks and witches
This was actually addressed in the first chapter of the first book.
Presumably, if あなた cannot be persuaded to read anything better, Rowling will have to do.
Again with the assumptions. I've read better than Rowling. I've read worse than Rowling (both before and after I read HP). And guess what? Rowling is still up there on my "good authors" and "favorite book series."
I hope that my discontent is not merely a highbrow snobbery
I'm just gonna let that sit there. He didn't even read he books, and he's berating them. That, at least to me, is highbrow snobbery.

Can one man, who's never read Harry Potter, be wrong? Yes, he has been, and will continue to be for as long as he continues to make baseless claims and look over blatant facts about the one book he did read.

...why would there be sex in it anyway? This IS a children's book! Not even young adult! It almost seems like this guy just read every-other chapter of the book...

Thank あなた :) It's not that he doesn't know about the 'goodness' that gets me, it's that he doesn't know ANYTHING about HP. His reasons are just...just (I really want to say 'stupid') ugh. They aren't even reasons.
