Yuri= Yul?

Why do ppl call her Yul??? I 焦げ茶色, ダン, dun get it coz her name has no 'l' in it.

Bcoz in Hangul,when u learn korean u will know,"R" can be pronounced "L".With Yuri,if without "I" u pronounciate Yul,if with "I" u call Yuri.we call yul to shorten her name.thats it
