Ratings: We Can Do So Much Better

Ratings. They sound good in theory. What better way to know how good content is? Unfortunately, the reality is far, far different:

Trolls - We've all seen them. They rate things a one, just because they can.

Non-Raters - There is a LOT of awesome content on ファンポップ that goes unrated.

Friends and Enemies - フレンズ get high ratings. Enemies get low ratings. It happens.

Rating Unfairly - People dish out 1-star ratings to 画像 and 動画 containing characters/pairings they don't support.

Rating the Uploading Process - Content gets rated based on HOW it was uploaded instead of the quality of the actual...

As with any web site, ファンポップ is only as good as its content. Some content - what I think of as the soul of the site - is generated によって users in the fora and in コメント on the rest of the content and cannot be rated. Giving Back To ファンポップ

So we, as users, take a lot from ファンポップ every day. We watch videos, we take quiz's, share awesome links, etc. We all have gained something from Fanpop, whether it be a funny video, または a cool new website. So I was thinking that perhaps maybe once a month, if even that, a mass majority (as many users we can get) would all add one thing. Whether it be a video, a quiz, a soapbox, または even just a link, we would all be giving back. I was thinking that it could be the first of every month. Maybe even a time could be assigned to that date, which would allow other users to get to know each other and thread the community together. Perhaps at Four PM EST, we would all add something to Fanpop. I know many of あなた add items everyday but this would let less-contributing users thoughts be heard. These users could become hooked on ファンポップ and then that's +1 もっと見る dedicated fan. I don't know if this would take off, but if it does, it could be great. Please just leave a comment.

After creating my link spot and noting the severe lack of members, curiosity got me to searching for spots on ファンポップ that only had a single member (generally, their creator).

I came across spots that were months old and still only had a single member such as Chel's link spot, harold's link spot, または berly's link spot. And I thought to myself, these spots were created to meet other ファン and yet there appeared to be no other ファン of these topics on all of fanpop? Ridiculous! Or... maybe it's true.

Some of the one-fan spots seemed very obscure (to me, at least), so it's quite possible that there...

We all know (or at least I hope we know) that ファンポップ is a porn-free, happy, rainbow-colored PG-13 land. (whether あなた like it または not is not the topic of discussion here - we shall accept it as it is)
What's great is that we can still manage to have a sex spot and a breast spot which are clean. No pictures of nipples, no porn gifs, no hardcore anal porn videos.
Good.

Now what's the bad part?
I've seen it rather often lately that some user just mentioned words like "porn" または "nudity" and a very angry mob of users was ready to drown...
