As I said before, I´m not against the idea that she tried to get Merida to have better manners but my problem is with the way she did. She could have handle it better.

Ariel is horrible as mother. Esp when you have experience it first hand from your own father, how could she do it to Melody the same thing. At least Elinor didn't have a context to Merida's want for freedom and not wanting to marry coz she hadnt seen it, she was honestly surprised to Merida's reaction coz she had accepted it herself when it was her time.
With Ariel, she didnt accept her reality, fought with her parent and then literally took a great risk for her choice. She knows what it is like to be trapped or forced into living a certain way. Then how could she possibly do it to Melody.

She's not even technically a mother
