But I also think people thinking that just because something is new or a sequel that is bad and can't compare with the old stuff. But this makes me mad too!
What if old fashioned does mean boring to them? I mean, if it seems out of touch with what they believe in, they might be right to see it as boring and unlikeable, I don't like deciding what is or isn't a good enough reason to like a character. A lot of it is pretty arbitrary anyway.
If people don't like old fashioned things that's fine. But I wish they would just simply say that. Especially when I see people criticize them and calling them boring for stuff that other princesses are guilty of.
not liking it is one thing but these people act SO offended by it and treat the girls like all Walt made them for was to be worthless two dimensional broodmares for the men or something (which is hilarious because except for maybe Aurora, the other two princesses are very much the stars of the show and help themselves, not the princes).
also the fact that it's seen as acceptable to bash them as boring but God help you if you find anything to complain about with the newer girls. if you so much as call Belle, Mulan, or Tiana boring especially, some of the fans get positively up in arms about it (will even call you racist for it in Tiana's case).

When I did my list of favorite animated heroines (she's #3) I actually began Tiana's entry with that I *didn't* like about her. :)
