(Slogan - Anonymous)" I can definatly see why it bother them. This is almost like instantly assuming that pro-lifers are against gay rights. That of course, isn't always the case. I actually know quite some (And i'm not saying ALL, just some) gay people who are pro-life. And even if you did happen to use this arguement with a prolifer who was against homosexual rights, it still would be a long-shot seeing as 9/10 fetus's will grow up to be straight. So why would they allow let's say, 9 straight fetus's to be aborted just so 1 gay one will not see the light of day? And thirdly, often people who are against gay-rights believe that sexxuality is a CHOICE. So they probably believe that babies are born straight anyway, rather than something wired into you.

pandawinx (Sorry for the rant) Moving on, i found this particular verse from Trinidad rapper (and in my eyes the second coming XD) Nicki Minaj's autobiography very interesting. Its a mixed message, but i think it's a valid quote for the abortion debate, even if it does kind of slide between pro-life and choice; "Please Baby Forgive Me. And I'm about to go on a rant, so before I even begin...Cinders, I just want to let you know that you may have brought this quote to attention, but none of what I'm about to say is meant to be intentionally directed at you unless you hold similar views as the Pro-Choicers I'm about to discuss.... Now to begin now because I'm completely fired up... To me, it comes across as stereotypical and judgmental on two accounts. Why? Hell, not even just simply against gays...hate or even dislike them to the point where we won't want to them to be born? o_O Secondly, allow me to explain myself and as to why I am or at least may be Pro-Life. I believed I was Pro-Life because I believe in the value of all human life, including that of an unborn child. And that's it. Yeah, I'm Christian. But my views on abortion and my religion had nothing to do with each other. I repeat, NOTHING. They are in no way connected, and my religion is not responsible for my views on abortion existing or my existing views on almost everything going on in this world today. Secondly, as a Christian, I do NOT against gay rights. I'm not even against them as people, I am pro-gay rights to the fullest. Two of my great aunts are lesbians and two friends of mine are bisexual. I also have a best friend who was raised by a lesbian couple along with her twin sister, and they were raised beautifully. How can I tell? Because both Arielle and her sister are friendly, kindhearted good people with morals, which is a hell lot more than I can say for even other Christian families I am aware of. And even if I were against gays rights, I would never hate a gay person nor wish one were not born. If some Pro-Choicers would make an attempt to be open-minded as a lot of them claim to be, they'd be open to the fact that not every Pro-Lifer is the same or falls under this common fucking stereotype Pro-Lifers appear to be frequently given. -_- I'm Pro-gay rights, and pro-babies-who-can't-defend-themselves rights to the fullest. I will stand up and help anyone who was being mistreated or are not seen as valuable people. I do not hold double standards, nor am I a hypocrite. And that's EXACTLY what that quote seems to consistently say about me because I happen to have a fucking opinion on a controversial topic. >:( And again, a lot of Pro-Choicers like to preach about how Pro-Life is the side that judges too often. LMAO, yeah. I'd beg to fucking differ. Now, I'm sorry for my inappropriate language and dropping the F-bomb quite a few times. But as you can see, I hold a lot of frustrations about these type of issues. -_-

Cinders wasn't promoting that quote rather than bringing it to attention, but i do agree that the quote was unfair. It's what i like to call a "curveball". AKA- when someone annoyingly decides to bring another topic into play perhaps to distract from the main objective. I understand your opposition to it. Ok, so i know a very small minority of people would NOT want a gay baby being born (Not all christian, and not all pro-life), but honestly that minority is so small it's like picking out a grain of sand in a blizzard. It's a frustrating stereotype, but sadly, it persists to pop up in various debates. If it makes you feel any better at all though, the slogan didn't start off as something used to demonize pro-lifers. I think when the slogan first came out, it was back before gays had all the rights they do now. A lot of people at the time, in the place it was published, would probably of not wanted a gay baby to be born. It wasn't so much of a attack as a kinda "If you illegalise abortion they'll be loads of gay babies!!!" thing.

bri-marie ^That's just as bad as saying "pro-lifers are against gays." It's an over-generalization based on very little evidence. [i]Some[/i] pro-lifers are also for the death penalty. [i]Some[/i] pro-iifers also think war is an acceptable solution to certain problems. [i][u]Not all of them[/u][/i]. Also, saying "pro-lifers are pro-death" is like saying "pro-choicers are anti-babies."

MineTurtle This is so good. Good arguments from both sides. But did you notice that there are 9 pro life quotes, and only 8 pro choice? I have another quote: Everyone who supported slavery was free. Everyone who supports abortion is alive. That's how opression works.
