Ridiculous is the word. あなた can't have your hero being portrayed as the typical guy/abuser in one episode with the media using his behavior as an example to warn the women out there to avoid these type of relationships(Zap2it) and then the 次 日 to present him as the ultimate nice guy who's willing to let go of his 愛 cause he puts her own happiness as a priority!
