This was partly inspired によって an amazing video I saw on YouTube yesterday entitled 'Soulmates', and an earlier 記事 SpuffyDelena 投稿されました about all the references in the 音楽 about DE being each other's 'home'. I looked through episodes in Season One and Two, to see if there were any もっと見る hidden messages または parallels in their scenes and in the music, and this is what I found...

The Pilot Episode
When Bonnie touches Elena, she sees an image of Damon, not Stefan, even though Elena's encounter with Stefan is a much bigger deal.

Bonnie: When I touched you, I saw a crow.
Elena: What?
Bonnie: A crow. There was fog, and a man...

1x07 Elena: (speaking to Damon after Vicki is killed), あなた did this. This is your fault.

1x13 (In an 1864 flashback after Katherine is taken away) Damon 発言しました to Stefan: あなた did this. This is your fault.

1x14 Damon: I didn't compell あなた in Atlanta because we were having fun. I wanted it to be real.

(Stefan keeps walking.)

1x14 Elena: We have something. An understanding.

2x01 Damon: There is something going on between the two of us and あなた know it.

2x01 Katherine: あなた hate me, huh? That sounds like the beginning of a 愛 story Stefan not the end of one.

Elena: I hate him Stefan.

2x08 Damon: I don't deserve you. But my brother does. (Song heard in background 'I Was Wrong' によって Sleeperstar.)

The song played during SE's 愛 scene in 1x10, 'Cut' is about finding relief through pain. In other words, self-harm:

'The only anaesthetic that makes me feel anything kills inside.
I do not wanna be afraid
I do not wanna die inside just to breathe in,
I'm tired of feeling so numb
Relief exists I find it when I am cut.'

In comparison, the song 'All I Need' played during the Delena dance scene in 1x19 is about the redeeming power of love, and believing that 愛 can heal you:

Don't tear me down for all I need
Make my ハート, 心 a better place
Give me something I can believe.'

Song played during SE scene at the lakehouse in 2x14, 'You Wait For Rain'
'You wait for rain and I chase the storm

And I break down as あなた walk away,

Damon after he tells Elena he loves her in 2x08 'I wish あなた didn't have to forget this. But あなた do.'

Damon to Andie in 2x13 'I'm in 愛 with a woman I can never have.'

In SE's break-up scene in 2x06, Elena said: I've been so selfish with あなた because I 愛 あなた so much...

In 2x08 Damon said: I 愛 あなた Elena. And it's because I 愛 あなた that I can't be selfish you.
