So after answering heeeresjoyce's link
(no I'm not saying the answer), it occured to me that there are several actors on the show who have worked with Joss Whedon.
For those of you who haven't followed David's career since his Buffy
days, Joss Whedon is the creator of three (soon to be four) hit shows: Buffy, Angel and Firefly. Now at least four people who have been on Bones that I can think of off the top of my head has appeared in at least one Whedon project. Again, those unfamiliar with Whedon's work may not know that Whedon plays favorites when casting new shows. He often works with the same actors. Even in his new show, Dollhouse
, he's using an actress from Buffy (Eliza Dushku) and one from Angel (Amy Acker).
This led me to an intriguing conspiracy theory about the Bones cast and writers. I'm wondering if Joss has some sort of connection to the show itself.
It could be something as simple as the folks involved paying a subtle tribute to Whedon in their casting (and some could argue that even the dialog has similarities to Whedon's style).
Hart Hanson even said in link
: "It's not so much that I was huge fan of Buffy
, but I definitely watched them, because I think that Joss Whedon is one of the great showrunners in TV, in fact he's just a brilliant man, so I would watch how his shows unfolded."
Anyways, I was wondering what you all think. Whether or not you're familiar with Joss's work, it is rather interesting that four cast members have worked with the writer/director in the past, including the show's co-star(David). Any thoughts on that? And what about those of you who ARE familiar with Whedon and his masterpieces? Do you think that Hart Hanson cast these actors not only for their talent, but for their Whedon connections?
