Carlos PenaVega talks about a Big Time Reunion <3 

Attention, Rushers — A Big Time Rush Tour May Be Happening!

(!!!) This is not a drill. You read it right! Not too long ago, we caught up with James Maslow and he gave us a glimmer of hope for a Big Time Rush reunion, and after we got to chat with former bandmate, Carlos PenaVega he gave us some AH-mazing info for Rushers everywhere!

big screen debut, the new album currently in the works and — wait for it — a potential tour that would feature all four former BTR boys! Read the entire interview below. Word to the wise, you should probably sit down so your legs don’t collapse with all these big time announcements!

! Can you tell our readers a little about this movie?

“The movie is awesome. I’m super proud of it. It’s based on a true story about four Mexican-American kids who basically do the impossible. They compete against colleges in an underwater robot competition and they end up winning. It’s crazy because they have everything going against them. The fact that they are four Latinos, no one really believed in them, except for George Lopez, Jamie Lee Curtis and Esai Morales’s characters. It’s a really inspiring story and I feel like for the kids who haven’t seen it yet, it’s something that will inspire them to go on and do bigger and better things.”

Were you a lot like Oscar when you were his age?

“You know I’ve always been very determined. When I want something I don’t stop until I get it. You know, if I wanted a new Pokémon card, I would work my butt off until I had enough quarters to go and get it. I was like, ‘I’m doing this. I want it. I’m going to get it done.’ I think that’s a good similarity that Oscar and I have.”

Your movie girlfriend also happened to be your real-life wife! Did you know Alexa was going to be in

“No, I actually got it first and I had to work my butt off for it! I was literally sitting there with the director and he was like, ‘I think we are going to offer the role to this actress. Her name is Alexa Vega.’ I just started laughing and he asked if I knew her. I told him I was engaged to her!”

We recently talked to Alexa about what it was like working together and she had nothing but adorable things to say! But, we want the dirt — were there ever any moments when you two got under each other’s skin?

“No, it was very much like a good little support group that we had. She was always running lines with me. I guess that’s my own fault towards her — I really don’t like running lines with her. I just don’t like doing it (laughs)! I think we got in, not arguments…but she was so supportive and amazing. She definitely wins.”

What was the hardest part about working together?

“Probably the hardest part was being away from each other. She was only there for a little bit and then she was off filming

. She would be gone and I’m sitting there filming. She would show up for a few days and then go back to filming. She was in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It was definitely a rough time.”

You two have already been married for over a year! What are some things that you do or she does that you’re constantly nagging each other about?

“I know believe me I’m like how did that happen! She always gets at me because — again I am very supportive of her — but I get lazy when it comes to doing stuff for her. She loves foot massages and I can’t do it for more than ten seconds and then I’m bored. So, I have to learn that it’s not all about me it’s about her. She’s teaching me!”

“I don’t think it was hard. It was just like a change of pace, which was something to get used to. Movies are a lot slower compared to TV when we have to get an episode done in a week. The movie was a

slower. It’s kind of like, okay…When are we going to move on to the next scene?”

“I liked it because it wasn’t as stressful. Once I got the hang of it, I could relax — do a couple of scenes today, relax, learn some lines and then do some more tomorrow. With

, filming was like okay, here we go! One scene after another! Totally different pace.”

We talked to James about the possibility of the Big Time Rush guys reuniting down the line, and he said it could happen. Would you be up for a BTR reunion?

“If James said it could happen, then it could happen. I’m totally down for it. We always said, bands don’t break up. For us, we’re still a band. Nobody is dead or anything! If the opportunity came up for us to do shows, why not? It’s hard to say when, but if something came up, we would totally be down for it.”

“James actually called me today. I know that Kendall had a show the other night and Logan was there. They performed together, but James and I couldn’t make it. We chat here and there through text. It’s crazy. We were together for so long, being apart feels weird. We were together every day for six years and now after a year of being apart, you know we’re still friends. It’s like some days I’m like, we did all that? When did all that happen?”

Speaking of Logan and Kendall teaming up, is that something you would ever consider?

“I’m doing a whole Spanglish solo project right now and down the line I would love to have any of the guys join me. We always talk about how cool it would be to do a tour with all of us together but also have our solo projects going on. So it’s not just the band, but everything. So, who knows? It would be a super long concert (laughs)!

“I’m going for a lot of different things. I’m really trying to go back to my Spanish roots but I do want to be able to relate to the US and overseas. I’m trying to find a good balance of pop music influenced with Latin flavor.”

“No, I am currently just between Miami and Califorina and literally just back and forth writing music and figuring out a game-plan with the team.”

“I’m going on a sailing trip! My wife and I love cruising and we couldn’t go on our cruise this year because Alexa booked a movie that she’s filming right now. We were so lucky to get our money back. She asked me what I wanted to do and I said that I wanted to rent a boat and go sailing! She was like, ‘Let’s do it.’ We got a catamaran and there are ten of us going and I am literally sailing the boat! I’m getting all my certification right now and we’re going to go down. We have 24 days. Then we go for a ten-day trip and sail from island to island and hopefully make it back! I wanted a big adventure, so that’s why I’m doing this. Honestly, it’s a really inexpensive vacation when you don’t have someone sailing the boat and cooking for you. It’s called bareboat, so you just literally pick up the boat and go! We will see what happens!”
